The ugly little wrist pin cushion that came with my sewing bag wasn't doing it for me anymore. I don't wear it on my wrist. It's merely functional.  I knitted a cute little pincushion in the shape of an owl.

I prefer books that read like histories. I don't need the battle play by play though. I like period pieces. Especially about royalty in England and France. I'd like to read one set in Spain. I like books by foreign writers set in their homeland or are specific to their culture (Kite Runner, Brick Lane). I like mystery novels set in ancient Rome. ( Read more... )

I've given up on any sort of active working out. It hurts my right shoulder so much that I can't sleep regardless of what pain killer I'm on. I can't lift my arm for much. I have an appointment with an orthopedist on Friday. The man's invented things and surgical procedures. I hope my piddly shoulder pain isn't wasted on him ;p ( Read more... )

Been trying to register Elliot for kindergarten all day. Rumor had it that I could walk in. Get a pile of forms. Take it home and fill it out and come back with my kid's birth cert, proof of residence and immunization. No. I have to have all that before hand. Including the boosters.
