I see a pattern developing

I played the boardgame Risk with Brian, Jessica, and Will last Saturday. What made it interesting to me was that the outcome was the same as the last time I played Risk about a month ago when I did it with Jim and Will. Even the path that was taken was quite similar.

Here's how the first game went down:I was dealt a good position in Australia ( Read more... )

A lot of guys play like that, which makes it very easy to win against those who don't strategize well or are overly agressive.

Too bad I don't know more Girls who play risk, or I'd tell you more ;p

I threw the game on purpose- normally I don't play that way (though I'm not as conservative as you were). I needed to get home at a reasonable time. :P

You did throw the game at the end, but what I'm saying is that if at the beginning you had gotten your own continent and let me gotten mine, we probably could have taken out Will since he had the lesser continent.

I don't know if that would have been a better or worse strategy for you but I'm thinking better since you would have had fewer opponents and thus fewer people trading in cards at the high numbers.

What I find annoying about Risk are the Rambo units. So many times I've played where a person has a single roman numeral one in a territory, and it successfully, consistently, would defeat hordes sent to defeat it.

Maybe the dice were loaded.

Jeez. I've never seen that. I have seen two defense dice go crazy though with lots of double sixes and things like that. Was really annoying for me while I was trying to kill him.
