Animal Cruelty!
Annie, recently promoted to Household Problem Cat, has a behavioral problem. She'll purr contentedly when petted, and then suddenly attempt to kill you. When this happened again this evening I threw her in the shower and left her there while I cleaned out the wound in my hand. I doubt she learned anything, but by damn I felt a lot better. -
What a month :-(
To put this all in context, a very wonderful human friend of mine named Tatyana died today as well, far too young. Apparently while I was taking care of my cat, she had pneumonia. I hadn't seen her for a while and had no idea she was ill. I am *so* done with this month. -

2010 starts on a crappy note
Eek's numbers are significantly worse today, so I'm going to bring him home. He doesn't have any significant tumors, but unfortunately he doesn't have any any significant kidney function either. I'm going to continue to treat him at home, but it looks like he's on the way down. -
Exciting cat updates.
Well, I'm sure everyone has been on edge waiting for further news on my suddenly-very-expensive cat. As usually seems to happen with these things, last night's good news is followed by today's even worse news. He's more comfortable now that all that fluid is out of his lungs, but he's still got terrible renal function plus congestive heart ( Read more... ) -
Poor Eek is sick(er).
Eek hasn't been eating, so I took him to the vet today. He fainted while the vet was doing his physical exam and ended up getting oxygen for a while. The vet then said I should probably take him out to the veterinary ER, so I did. A variety of tests have now been done, and he's staying overnight so that some more can happen in the morning.
