Ok we managed to get the house deal going again. She is willing to still go through with it as long as we give her a credit at closing for replacing the roof. So we got two estimates yesterday and are sending it to our lawyer. The hubby and I can't relax about it though. I just got a call from the Hubby. The buyer is backing out of the house deal. I was told this COULD NOT happen. But it is and she never put down the down payment I was told she was definately putting down on the 27th. I am in such shock and so angry. I gave my 2 weeks notice at work already and had to go in and take it back, even though everybody ( Read more... )

The inspection came back with only two concerns the roof (no surprise) and the shingles. Some need to be replaced and the house needs to be power washed. We got back to our lawyer and said we are doing nothing about the roof since we took such a low bid and we would try and fix the lower shingles but not power wash. Hopefully she will accept this. Well we are out of attorney review and the house inspection is happening at 3pm today. We are still on target for an Aprl 20th closing, and I am still a neverous wreck. I keep thinking it is all gonna fall through. At the same time I can not wait to give my notice. Everyday it gets a little worse here. I had to force myself not to quit yesterday. ( Read more... )

We accepted the bid on our house. It is much lower than we were hoping for, but it is exactly the same as the first bid we got so I can take a hint. Now the real stress begins. We had 6-7 people through to see the house this weekend. One couple from a few weeks ago want a second look. I am trying to be hopeful without getting my hopes up. They live in NY and the wife works in Manhattan so the train is a real benefit for them. The job search is not happening.
