I finished
So I finally finished the book I've been reading for about three weeks, called An Instance of the Fingerpost by Iain Pears. I am admittedly a very slow reader, but this is one of the longest spans I've spent on a book. It's divided into 4 parts, each with a different narrator describing the same events. Movie Night
So i went to see "Untraceable" tonight. It was creepy and horrifying. The idea that we are all so connected is cool, but the natural extension, that anyone can connect and take root in our digital life for malicious purposes, is chilling. The movie was well-done. Sometimes I hate my job.
OK, so I give 125 percent on a daily basis in terms of planning appropriate lessons, and trying to foster a safe learning environment. The mornings start out with my remedial reading class, 2 hours in length (!). These kids for the most part, don't give a shite about learning to read. They want to flirt. They want to argue. Ok, so it's been like forever since I've posted. I just felt like I had nothing going on to write about. The I was told by a fellow Live Journaler that I didn't post enough. So, I thank him (I can't seem to make a link to his journal with the tiny head next to it like I have seen others do). Anyway, here's hopefully the first of many. -

So class was OK tonight. We talked over the case studies in the text and what to do when a student's parent is a religious zealot. I had a monstrous headache. A girl cried because she was being silly and dramatic. That was kind of the high point. -

i saw "Eight Below." Sad. Movies with dogs always get you. The writing was shit, but the dogs were great :) -
