I actually had yesterday off and like the martyr that I am I volunteered to go man the 'Friends of State Parks'  booth at the Eno River festival.  I was signed up for 2pm until 6pm and so me and the family went off.  It was a pretty good time, despite the fact that I pretty much sat at a booth the whole time.  The music was good and the people ( Read more... )

I took my younger daughter and a friend of hers to the large indoor kids playspace called Marbles in downtown Raleigh yesterday.  They had a good bit of fun playing in the various areas.  The pirate ship was a big hit, and when we made it to the mock restaurant I was forced to pretend to eat about one metric ton of plastic food ( Read more... )

Greetings friends.  I am relatively new to this live journal thing.  I recognize that my rants are sometimes long and some of you may not want to read long stuff.  So how do I put links to longer rants into my posts (or does that require a pay account) and what the %$#!@ does Meme stand for?

Hey . . . I like this thread.  I knew that soucyn guy was friggin' crazy.

3 Things I have done that most of my friends have not;

1. Been hit full force in the forehead with an iron. (The clothing iron, not the golfing one)
2. Chewed on a cat turd sandwich.
3. Had sex in a small submarine (though at the time it was not submerged).

My Mom emails me.  ALOT.  Anything she sends me which actually comes from her I am always happy to receive, but the vast majority of it is prefaced with those insidious three letters FWD and is often some right wing commentary about how stupid democrats are or how patriotic republicans are.  Or how evil all immigrants are ( Read more... )

My lady and I had an absolutely lovely time tonight with ladyhelwynn and middleaston.  We went out to dinner and then returned to our house to chat.  Not much to say other than that, though after numerous conversations I must include these 2 observations;

1) if you ever need the Snot of a Baby Seal, ask miidleaston.  He is, apparently, a gourmet.
