I read a book recently which said that every obstacle in life is there for a reason - we either let it stop us, or we use it for personal growth. In a way I agree (what doesn't kill us makes us stronger etc) but seriously, enough already.

One of the (many) problems with living at home - I can't have a glass of wine / Baileys / etc whilst getting ready to go out without my parents thinking that I'm an alcoholic. To be honest, they probably think that already, but still, it's a bit irritating...

I make no secret of the fact that I'm a great fan of IKEA. It's relatively cheap, pretty good quality, and everything has a name. During my time at law school, for example, I did all my work on a desk called Matthias. My poor little Sony computer has officially died, and to avoid paying anything to the guy who tried to fix it, I've said that he can keep it for spare parts.
