I think this first session went pretty well. Most of it was introductory so I didn’t have to do much talking. I suspect I might be the class swot because I was the only one who already had some of the recommended textbooks for the course :). I am probably nervous and excited in equal measure! I'll post about how it goes.

In September, John and I visited friends in Scotland. The weather wasn't brilliant, so we didn't get to go on many day trips, but we did get to Loch Lomond, which I was really pleased about as it was somewhere I'd always wanted to visit. We went to the Loch itself and the local Bird of Prey Centre.

I have recently acquired two reproductions of 17th century maps. Both are etched/engraved on a metal base and framed.

The first of these is 'A New And Accurat Map of the World' (1626) and the other is 'Sussex by Robt Morden' (1695).
