I know this is off topic, but I just want anyone reading this to check out my LJ. I'm taking my own survey for school, and I'd appreciate everyone's help.

I was just wondering if anyone knew a website that had some really good instructions or hints for binding. Or maybe some titles of books that have to do with latch hooking.

I just wanted to post that www.shillcraft.com is an awesome site. They offer kits with your choice of wool or acrylic yarn that is 6-ply. They're really thick and last twenty to fifty years depending on whether it's wool or acrylic. They are a little more difficult but I think it's worth it. I too have noticed that most of the latch hook shelves are full of Disney and Cartoon characters. I just finished a Scooby-Doo latch-hook, which is intended as a gift. I tend to turn a lot of my finished pieces into pillows and give them to friends and family. I'd like to find something out there other than Disney/Cartoon characters as well, ( Read more... )

I'm 21, female, graduating in a few weeks.

I first started doing latch hook when I was pretty young - alittle less than 10 years ago. My grandfather got me started with it - he was made a rug for my newly born cousin. My dad also used to latch hook - he has this really amazing rug of a sailboat he did. ( Here's a little peak at it )

I realized there wasn't a community for latch hookers specifically so I made one. Hope people join and enjoy themselves! Have fun!
