The week passed by at a snail’s crawl, as if the world was punishing him for stealing. When Saturday finally rolled by, he could barely contain his excitement as he got ready. He styled his hair first, doing everything he could to make it look good. Eventually, he got his bangs to sit just right on his forehead, and he put on his clothes next, the black slacks that were almost like skinny jeans, they were so tight on his legs. Next, he put on a plain back tee, which he wore under his red sweater. Finishing the look with his usual leather jacket, Ryosuke glanced in the mirror one last time before running out of the room, hearing the doorbell ring in the front. Throwing the door open, Ryosuke jumped into Kei’s arms when he saw him, kissing him excitedly.

“Wow, you look fantastic,” Kei said, arms around his waist as he pulled him close, “Ready to go?”

Ryosuke nodded, not trusting himself to speak, since he felt like screaming at the top of his lungs OH MY GOD I’VE GOT A DATE!! followed by a loud pitch squeal, and possibly some wiggly dance moves. Closing the door behind him, Ryosuke blushed as Kei held the passenger door for him, closing it before going around to the other side of the car, sliding into the driver’s seat and pulling away from the house.

Staring at Kei while he drove, Ryosuke eyed his outfit, his mouth going dry. As always, he looked flawless, but his usual wavy hair was straight, and it seemed a bit shorter. It really suited Kei, drawing more attention to his dark eyes. Shoving his crazy hormones aside, Ryosuke stared out the window as they drove along, the stars and the moon glowing in the night sky. It was a beautiful night, just perfect for their date, and Ryosuke felt like nothing could go wrong.

Dinner was fantastic, the two sitting side-by-side in their booth. Kei kept sneaking bites of his pasta, which Ryosuke didn’t mind, since he stole about half of Inoo’s curry anyway. With no room for dessert, Inoo paid the bill and they left, hands clasped as they walked down the sidewalk, leaving the car parked in front of the restaurant.

They chatted quietly as they walked, their breath fogging out in front of them. It was chilly outside, but he felt so warm and light-headed that he hardly even noticed it.

Without realizing it at first, they ended up at a park, the place completely empty except for a few kids his age smoking by the swings. Pulling Kei away from that direction, he led him towards a wide clearing that was lit by a few street lamps, casting a shiny glow over the dewy grass. The two laid back, hands still joined as they watched the stars.

“So, was this a perfect date?” Kei asked, breaking the silence. Ryosuke looked away from the stars and towards Kei, the lights glow falling on his face and highlighting his features. Without a word, he answered Kei’s question with a soft kiss, hoping he understood how he felt, because he didn’t think he could put it into words.

Kei, to his relief, seemed to get the message loud and clear, pulling Ryosuke closer and rolling on top of him, pinning him to the ground. Moaning into the kiss, Ryosuke began to undo Kei’s tie, using the ends to yank Kei forward and to deepen the kiss.

“Are we,” Ryosuke leaned up when Kei broke the kiss, continuing it without missing a beat. He could feel Kei panting into his mouth as he took control, sliding his green shirt down his shoulders and throwing it aside. Pushing Kei away a little, but still keeping their kiss going, he made quick work of taking his pants off, along with his boxer briefs, the clothes joining his shirt on the grass beside him.

“Fuck, it’s cold,” Inoo shivered, forcefully breaking the kiss as he took in large gulps of air. Letting him catch his breath, Ryosuke undressed himself and then climbed into Kei’s lap, pushing him down onto the ground while he continued to sit, a cold breeze passing by and ruffling his hair. It was fucking cold, but the chilliness of the air seemed to heighten his senses, because every hard touch, accidental scratch and teasing kiss felt a thousand times better than usual.

His patience wearing thin, Ryosuke grabbed the lube he had snuck into his pocket before leaving the house and coated his fingers, using the slight excess of it on Kei’s length. He knew it would hurt more that way, but he was impossibly hard right now, and couldn’t be bother to give a fuck.

Preparing himself hurriedly, Ryosuke cut himself short and began to sink down on Kei, his breath catching in his throat as tears gathered in the corners of his eyes. It hurt, so damn much, but the cold air nursed the sting and made everything feel tingly and numb.

Lifting his hips with Kei’s help, he rode the man’s cock, little grunts escaping his mouth every time he slammed his hips back down. Beneath him, Kei’s head was thrown back into the grass as he moaned loudly, the sound echoing around them.

They both came a moment later, lewd words staining the air as Ryosuke collapsed on top of Kei, his thighs aching and his back muscles feeling tight. Tired and out of breath, he thanked Kei with a kiss as the man helped him get dress, before dressing himself, the two standing up on shaky legs once they were clothed. Walking back to the car with their arms around each other, Ryosuke gratefully curled up in the front seat, the blast of the heater warming his cooled skin and lulling him to sleep.

When he woke up, it was Sunday morning, and the smell of western-styled pancakes dragged him out of bed. Not bothering with clothes besides his underwear, Ryosuke stumbled into the kitchen and yawned, kissing Kei good morning.

“Go brush your teeth,” he laughed, nose wrinkling in disgust at Ryosuke’s morning breath. Leaving the room to go take care of his problem, he came back a moment later and kissed Kei more firmly this time, letting him taste the fresh mint flavor on his tongue.

“Sleep well?” Kei asked, breaking the kiss so he could flip the pancakes over.

“Very well, you?” Ryosuke asked, leaning his cheek against Kei’s shoulder.

“I did, after I got you to bed and took a quick shower. Next time we have sex in a park, we’re bringing a blanket.” Ryosuke snickered, imagining Inoo’s backside covered in mud.

“Sorry,” he apologized, although he didn’t really mean it, his lips still quirked up on the sides, “All week at school, I kept having these dirty fantasies about you, and I just needed you so bad.”

“Dirty fantasies,” Kei smirked, looking interested, “Like what?”

“Well, Sensei,” he whispered the word, watching Kei’s face flush in response, “One of the fantasies I kept having was you bending me over your desk, like I was some bad boy who broke the rules, and you fucked me until I screamed your name.”

“Oh God,” Kei breathed out, inching his body closer to Ryosuke’s, “Now I won’t be able to look at my desk without getting hard.”

Turning off the gas and moving the slightly burnt pancakes to the other side of the stove, Ryosuke pulled Kei out of the kitchen and back into the bedroom, making sure to scream Sensei when he came.

“Hey, how is the studying going?” Kei asked as he walked into his room, carrying two cups of tea. Ryosuke smiled and rubbed his exhausted eyes, taking the tea gratefully and sipping at it, since it was still too hot.

“My eyes hurt, and my brain, and I feel dumber the more I study,” Ryosuke responded, curling up against Kei as he kicked his books off the man’s bed. “I don’t see why you’re making me study so hard, we both know I’ll pass the exam.”

Kei rested his cheek against the top of his head, his nose tickling Ryosuke’s scalp, “I know, but there’s a difference between simply passing them, and excelling at them, and we both know you could easily place first, if you just studied enough.”

“I don’t care though,” Ryosuke whined, sick of studying and school. There was only one month left of school, and tensions were running high as the third years prepared to take their final exam. Ryosuke felt more than prepared to take that exam, but Kei, as his boyfriend, kept insisting that he should study more and try to place first in his class. He knew why Kei was doing this, in hopes that if he changed his mind about college, he’d have an excellent test score that they’d be foolish to deny.

He hadn’t changed his mind though, and it was too late anyway. The deadline to apply for the next semester had already passed, and everyone in his class had been getting their acceptance letters the past month. Mirai got accepted into all of the schools she applied to, and after a long discussion with her parents, all three agreed that Meiji would be the best for her. Ryosuke was happy with this decision as well, because that meant that Mirai would stay close to home, and they’d still be able to see each other.

“You should care. If you get a bad score, you won’t be able to go-”

“I’m not going to college!” Ryosuke snapped. Why did this subject always have to come up? He had made it pretty clear he wasn’t going to college, not anytime soon at least, and yet Kei never dropped it.

“But you should be,” Kei argued, looking down at him in frustration, “You’re too bright to just waste away at some mediocre job, taking care of your alcoholic mother for the rest of your life.”

“Don’t talk about my mother like that, you ass,” Ryosuke shoved Kei away from him, getting out of the bed, “This is my life, okay, so stop telling me what to do! I’m not some five year old you can boss around, I’ll be nineteen in a few months, that’s only one year away from adulthood!”

“I’m not trying to upset you, or fight,” Kei said gently, scooting over to him and grabbing his hands, giving them a squeeze, “I just can’t stand the fact that you’re throwing your life away for some alcoholic who beats you. That’s not right, Ryosuke. You need to get away from your mother, not stick closer to her.”

“You don’t understand, and you never will, so don’t tell me what’s right or wrong,” Ryosuke let go of Inoo’s hands and bent down, picking up his papers and stuffing them into his backpack. “I should probably go.”

“Ryo-”

“See you later, Kei,” Ryosuke gave Kei a peck before leaving the room, walking out of his apartment quickly. He didn’t really want to leave, but he was so sick of having this argument over and over again, and having to listen to Kei talk bad about his mother. Everything he said was true, he couldn’t deny, but hearing those words spoken by someone other than himself, made him realize just how stupid he was.

He wanted to go to college, desperately. He wanted to escape and run far, far away, where he wouldn’t have to deal with his mother anymore. At the same time though, he felt guilty for wanting to abandon her, and worried about what would happen to her, if he left.

In the end, it always came back to this, and although it killed him to give up on his dreams so early in life, he knew there was nothing he could do. He would always pick his mother over himself, and that was that.

Unlocking the front door, Ryosuke entered the house and kicked off his shoes, setting his backpack onto the floor before making his way towards his bedroom. Unaware that his mother was still awake, Ryosuke collapsed onto his bed and brought his blankets over his face, hugging his pillow to his chest.

Feeling his bed dip and a gentle hand rubbing his back, Ryosuke felt the covers being pulled off of him as he started to cry, trying to hide his face from his mother. “Ryosuke, what’s wrong?” she asked, her voice calm and even, an indication that she was still sober.

“It’s nothing mama,” he responded, wished she would just leave so he could cry in peace.

“Is it about that man you’re dating?” Ryosuke jumped at this, looking at his mother in surprise.

“How did you know about that?”

“The neighbors have seen him dropping you off, or picking you up,” she scooted closer to him, her fingers running through his hair and he sighed, head falling back onto the bed. “You could have told me, you know. I was only eighteen when I met your father, and he was nearly twenty-five.”

“That was different though,” Ryosuke said, and his mother didn’t question him on why it was different, just nodded and continued to play with his hair.

“Do you want to talk about it?” she asked after a moment of silence, and Ryosuke sighed, contemplating. It would be good, amazing even, to get this mess off his chest, but he didn’t want to bring up the college subject with his mother. Thinking about his words for a minute, Ryosuke nodded and sat up, cuddling against her side.

“My boyfriend, he keeps trying to tell me what to do. I know that he has my best interests at heart, but it’s annoying,” as the words began pouring out, he found it easier to talk, and the subject drifted from his annoyances to the things he liked about Kei, and why he enjoyed being in this relationship.

He told her about their first date, leaving out the part where they had sex, of course, and how magical that whole evening was. He told her how he enjoyed sleeping in Kei’s arms, because it felt safe and warm, like nothing in the world could harm him; about his smile, his eyes, the way he laughs like a hyena when you tickle his sides. The more he spoke, the more he began to realize just how serious their relationship was. It had started off as a physical attraction, became a slight crush, turned into a meaningful friendship that was lost, but then found again. Back to a crush, a physical need to have Kei, not just as a lover but as so much more, and now they were here, and he knew, without a doubt, that he loved this man.

“I think you should talk to him, Ryosuke,” she said after he finished, pressing a tender kiss to his forehead. “All relationships hit these bumps in the road, and it may seem easy to just give up and back away, but love is worth that scary drive ahead.”

“Thank you mama,” Ryosuke smiled, and although their conversation was done, he remained cuddled up beside her, enjoying her comforting presence and feeling relaxed, even as his thoughts continued to swirl around.
