PoD - The Finish

Thank you all for your wonderful response to Week 30. The Project of Doom has been such a pleasure to work on and to share and I can never thank you all enough for your participation!

This week, I bring you the final PoD post which includes layout suggestions for the 30 blocks that you made during our Block of the Week. I say suggestions because these are just that, suggestions. You do not have to follow my finishing instructions in order to complete your quilt, but if you want to create my original vision, this is it!

Layout Option 1 - 60 1/2" x 76 3/4" (Software generated layout...I'm still embroidering my blocks and have not assembled my top yet.)

Layout 1 is heart of The Project of Doom. I started with this design and created each block to flow into the next.

The original layout was inspired by this mural that I created in my daughter's room over 8 years ago. Since the day I started working on Harry Potter patterns, I've wanted to recreate this in a quilt. I knew that it would be a huge task and when I decided that I was ready for one last big HP quilt project, I knew this had to be it.

Layout Option 2 - 70 1/2" x 82 1/2"

Of course, I can't just let this go at one layout when we can have two! This is another option that includes all 30 blocks and creates a larger quilt. I also think it would be fun to combine a couple more of the blocks in order to create differently sized shelves. That would also be a prime opportunity to add more books!
