The Messiah
I finally attended a performance of The Messiah. I have sung the Hallellujah Chorus many times, but had never taken the time to attend a performance of the whole thing. It was just wonderful and it left me amazed that music composed in the 1700's could give me shivers in 2013. Somehow I don't think Bieber's version of Mistletoe will stand that ( Read more... ) -
Finally Saw The Impossible
It had been sitting on my PVR since April and I was never really "in the mood" for it. Well, Friday was the day, and
every single person in my house cried.
But it was still an awesome movie. -

Spring in the air
Gorgeous day today. It was our choir's spring concert tonight. Good weather plus choral music makes for a good day. This was our final piece. There were some dark nights of the soul in february when we were learning this but it turned out ok

My favourite Christmas Carol is In the Bleak Midwinter, but that's kind of depressing. O Holy Night is another beautiful song, but in the wrong hands can become too beautiful, too over the top. I think Celtic Woman does a fantastic job with this version.
