MULLET
I have the worst haircut. Ever. I'm not exagerating when I say, my hair is a combination of Bonnie Tyler, a lady truck driver and the child cast of an 80s sitcom. I have tried everything to de-mulletify and it only makes it worse. It is too short to tie back. Is the pixie cut my only option? Should I try to wear hats? Dr. Who's Cultural Capital
There are some elements of popular culture which don't translate from one country to the next - Les Boys, anyone? - and there are other elements which translate but change meaning. Winter descends
Here comes the cold...now I can look forward to such things as:
- the olive oil solidfying in the kitchen
- the honey freezing in the cupboards
- cooking with a toque
- wearing thermal underwear from mountain equipment co-op almost permanently
- having the neighbours assume we're serial killers because we're always chopping wood out front -

Written in chalk above the cashpoint (british word for bank machine) is this:

I think that's the most pleasant graffiti I've ever seen. Way to go England. Almost makes up for the egg-throwing chavs. -
Everything Still Sucks, but...
They give out DVDs free with newspapers in this crazy country. And not just crappy ones, either. Donnie Darko came free with the Sunday Times. How about that?!
