Many months ago, I fell in love with the abstract ink paintings of Pery Burge. I finally made some icons in tribute to her luminous creations. I made these all of these bases from this photograph. It's a collection of tiny stones from the beach at Fort Cronkhite, California. They're in a translucent plastic film canister; I just stuck the camera lens into the opening and took the picture. I love how each stone has its own texture, almost like a personality.
