So my client gives me a last minute presentation that, since we're on 'retainer' now and I should show good will, I finish at close to midnight. Wasn't too much work, but I procrastinated, and so didn't get it finished until now.

So many people seem to have spent today defiantly hiding from the news media. To an extent, I can see why: even the banner ads have been intrusive in a manner heretofore unexperienced. ...well, after work, it's been a long evening:

a) Had a black velvet, which is apparently a word for mixing champagne with Guinness. Works better than you'd expect.

b) Watched The Remains of the Day with a friend of mine. The movie remains one of my all time favourite 'Depressing, but so damn good at it' films.

OK, what they didn't tell me about The Kingdom: there's a second series. A second series. Which hasn't been fully translated to English yet.
