Feeling a little down.... ok, a lot.

After all these months...
Xerxes is finally coming home! He's been transfered to Mt. Washington and they estimated he'll come home in about 2 weeks!

Another ridiculous baby post!
The other night while doing Xerxes' cares (diaper change, temp, etc.) I discovered his feet are ticklish. He doesn't laugh yet but jerks his little foot away. Too freaking cute if you ask me. -
Xerxes Update
Our little snuggle-bug is growing and growing! He's 6 lbs. 7.6 ozs. He's starting to hold up his head almost by himself now, and he loves to sit upright and gaze at people. His nurse (and other mommy!), Jenn, sits him up on the boppy for tummy time so he can strengthen his neck muscles and look around. I had no idea how fast babies can learn. Jenn ( Read more... ) -
Xerxes' Crib
That's right, crib! He moved in yesterday. The NICU team is trying him out in it to see how he does and so far he's doing great. Awww, too cute! When do the decorators arrive?

Surprise at the NICU
We missed going to the NICU the night before last night because we were both exhausted. We got there last night to discover Xerxes is off the cpap! He's on the nasal canula now. No more mask or head gear to hold it on. It was awesome to see his little face without the tube and mask. He still has tape holding his canula and feeding tube witch they ( Read more... ) -
Overdue Update
Where to begin? So much has been happening so fast! It's hard to say how Xerxes is doing because his status changes day to day. It's fair to say he's progressing though. He's off the ventilator and on a cipap. His lungs are still weak and so is his stomach. But when he's doing well enough we get to hold him now! He falls asleep in our arms so ( Read more... ) -

The past year has been pretty strange. Well, to be true, the past two or three have been strange. But I've learned a lot.
