Hello to everyone! It is time for another thrilling venture into the world of the Inks~!
I told you it would be slow going!
Last time we had a six part chapter that was nearly too big to recap! But, as a refresher:
- Amélie went on a date with Lyle, ended up drinking his blood, freaked out and moved out of Riverview for her own good.
- Life moved on for the family. Alex was trained in his toddler skills, Sophie and September had adventures with both their imaginary friend Sen and their after school activities, and Jude became a teenager!
- Kira hit middle age while Alex became a child! Alex, being good, clashed with his evil older brother. Jude found distraction in the daughter of the King of Diamonds, though.
- Nicotine Dreams retired, crushing the dreams of housewives everywhere. In their vacation to Sunset Valley, Jude managed to meet the King of Clubs while September managed to meet the bottom of a ravine. She's totally fine though, if not a little shaken.
- Alex met Amélie on the beach at sunrise, receiving a strange gift from her before having his memory of the meeting erased! Amélie told him to pass her congratulations on to Kira before disappearing with a newly vampiric Lyle.
And that's just the bare bones! Go back and read if you need more of a refresher - otherwise, let's move onwards!

"Uuuuuuuuugh."
"Ergh. Okay, that seems to be the worst of it..."
Kira sighed, mildly annoyed. She knew what this was. The fourth time around, it wasn't so much of a surprise anymore.
"Abel, I swear to god I'm gonna kill you for this. Or at least punch you in your stupid attractive face."
At that, she quirked a smile despite herself. "Ah, oh well."
"I guess I need to keep him around for you, huh?"
Kira spread the news the only way she knew how.
"So yeah. Pregnant, knocked up, bun in the oven and all that jazz. Congrats on your continued virility."
And Abel responded like she knew he would.
"Really?! :D :D :D?!"
"Yup. About ten weeks of really right here."
"I know we didn't really plan on this one like we did the others, but...you're fine with it, right? I know that babies are your one weakness, but..."
Abel showed her just how fine with it he was.
And of course, telling the kids (well, 75% of them) was in order as well!
"How exciting~" Temmy cooed.
"So we're sure it's a baby and not an alien?" Sophie asked, insistent.
"Fairly, yes. Feels the same as with the rest of you, and none of you burst out of my chest or anything." Kira replied.
"Are you sure?! You don't remember sparkling lights? No mysterious gaps in your memory?!"
"Phee, c'mon." Jude chided.
Kira, however, was indulgent as ever. "Well...none of that...that I can recall..."
"WE HAVE TO SCAN IT!! SCAN IT!!"
"Sc-scan?!" Temmy yelped.
"Now look what you did Mom."
--- --- --- --- ---
All silliness aside, there was time for one very important thing before the baby came!
Yes, it was time for September and Sophia to embrace the world of hormones and confusion otherwise known as adolescence! Time flies, huh.
The family cheered as enthusiastically as ever!
...and Kira, being inappropriate, laughed as enthusiastically as ever. But the girls were used to that.
So with double the wishes...
...and double the sparkles...
...the twins became teenagers!
Soft spoken September didn't change too much from her childhood years - still a touch neurotic and frightful, still very artistic. The only change seemed to be that her ballet training had made her into quite the athlete! Everyone was consistently surprised when she passed them on the track effortlessly.
And Sophie was still...well, Sophie! Her eccentricities and temper were as pronounced as ever, and now she found herself taking to anything that moved really, really fast! She gathered a rather encyclopedic knowledge of sports cars and was counting the days until she could get her license! This, naturally, made everyone extremely nervous.
Sophia also held her mother to her promise of letting her dye her hair once she was a teen! Kira was tempted to changed it due to the sheer number of dye jobs Sophie went through, but she figured it kind of suited her anyway.
As twins, they probably couldn't be more different!
But they were undoubtedly the best of friends, so it didn't really matter, huh?
---
"Sophie! Slow down, you're going to fall! Again!"
"Time waits for no one, Temmy! Besides, this is important!"
"Oh!"
"Oh my god, yeeeeeeessss!! Temmy! I was totally right!!"
"Sen does match us in aging! This is AWESOME!!"
The girls had actually been dreading their birthday a little, due to the uncertainty surrounding Sen! Sure, he had been gradually getting taller and older as the years passed, but they were never sure if or when it would stop. It turns out that they were safe for another year, at least!
"Ladies, please, contain yourselves." Sen teased.
Of course, things weren't totally worry free. As Sen aged, he started to look...different. Not that his hair was a natural color to start, and his ears were always pointy, but he could've been passable as a human.
But then, one by one, peculiarities popped up. First it was the spots, shining blue and green on his face. Then, most shockingly, came the eyes. Little by little, his sclera went black until his eyes were just bright green rings amidst darkness.
It was downright, well, alien.
This, of course, inspired Sophie.
"Okay, so now that we know that I'm totally right, as always, will you guys finally listen to the second part of my plan?"
"Uh, I don't know about that part, Phee." Sen replied, uneasy. "It's kinda weird."
"What's weird about it?!"
"It's boring as hell just staying at home all the time, right?! So start coming to school with us! Go out on the town with us!! We have to run into someone else who can see you, right?! There's no way it's just us."
"It's not that I don't appreciate the thought..." Sen said, still unconvinced. "It's still all very strange for me. Like, I've been outside once? Maybe twice? And people just...divert around me. They can't see me, but they instinctually never run into me. It's just too weird."
"But you haaaaaaaave to!! Tell 'im, Temmy!"
"Um, I actually think it's a good idea, Sen!" Ember encouraged. "There's so much more to the world than our little house. I feel a little sad everything I think that you can't enjoy it. And maybe Sophie's right! Maybe there are other people who can see you, and then you won't have to stick to boring ol' us."
He cracked a smile. "You're hardly boring. Who else can I say launched a bottle rocket off of the roof at midnight on New Years, sparking an incident that required no less than three firetrucks?"
"Th-that was one time!"
"But if you say so, Ember...then I guess I'll try. For you two."
"Great!"
"Hell yeah!"
--- --- --- --- ---
Time can pass pretty quick when there are four other kids to raise! Kira quickly found herself in the last month of her pregnancy. It surprised her how smoothly it had gone - then again, she had to remind herself that she wasn't carrying a vampire.
"So you still think it's gonna be a girl, huh?"
"That's my story and I'm sticking to it."
"Well, it that's what you really think..."
"Don't sass me, Mr. 'I Asked My Psychic Brother'. For shame."
"Hey, just using the resources available."
"And I suppose you still won't tell me if I'm wrong or right, huh."
"Nope!"
"But you'll be perfect either way, won't you?" he cooed at her belly.
"Watch me pop out another Ink family clone. Your genes are ridiculous. Only Temmy looks like me, really."
"Ah, what can I say? It's our destiny~"
"Okay, cut that shit out." she laughed, swatting him away.
"Uh, but just to make sure - you really are okay with staying home with this one? I mean, I know you're retired from the business and all, but staying 24/7 with a baby at our age is..."
"Kira, I've told you a hundred times, I'm fine! Really, it gives me something to do besides watch reruns on the Cooking Network all day. Alton Brown is a fine man, but we need some time apart, honestly."
"Ha ha, wise guy."
"You know you're not obligated or anything, right."
"I know."
"And that I could totally take a longer maternity leave, right."
"I know!"
"Or we could hire-"
"Kira."
"I am completely thrilled to be a stay at home dad. Like a vampire, I take my life force from hovering around the young."
"You know, that's like ten times creepier considering you used to be one."
"C'mon Kira, relax!"
"Now, what do you say we take a walk, hmm?"
"Oh, alright."
---
"See? Nice and calm, right?"
"I gotta say, the river is pretty soothing..."
"You holding up okay?"
Kira rolled her eyes. "Yes dear. I'm pregnant, not...wait. Ow."
"...ow?"
"Ah...yeah. Ow. Progressing quickly to 'shit'. On it's way to 'god fucking dammit', I think."
"Your back pain is that bad?!"
"Er, actually? I think I might be going into labor. Uh, shit, yeah, that's definitely what's happening here."
"Oh. Oh! Oh shit, I'll call a cab!!"
And, after Kira almost delivered the baby in the front drive of the hospital, Zoey Ink was safely brought into the world!
Abel couldn't wait to stay home with Zoey! To be honest, since Amélie left the house had been entirely too quiet. This baby would keep him busy enough to keep his mind off of it.
And perhaps, in time, it would heal.
"Zoey~! Hey baby, what's up?"
"Bwee!"
"It's not to early to learn peekaboo, is it? Zoey, peekaboo!"
Zoey didn't really get the concept, but she enjoyed the attention anyway!
She ended up being a pretty complacent baby. Even when left alone, she had no problems.
Not that she was left alone a terrible amount.
All of the kids, Alex in particular, took to their new little sister. It was fun to have something new to dote on~
Kira ended up getting back to work in record time, but she never neglected to spend some of her free time with Zoey!
She remembered how nervous she had been at the beginning, how little faith she had in herself that she could be a good mother. And sure, she was still a little rough around the edges, but overall she felt much better.
"Let's both do our best, okay Zoey?"
--- --- --- --- ---
And the final contender for the sixth gen heirship is born!
And yes, true to the story, Kira is the only one who really has a job. A job that she's way behind on due to maternity leave, sigh. I wonder if she'll ever reach her LTW at this point. (It's Hit Movie Composer, if...anyone cares...)
Abel is technically a self-employed inventor, but since his LTW is One Sim Band and has been fulfilled since he was a teenager, I just have him doing miscellaneous chores around the house. The more you know!
Anyway, onto more mystery and adventure in
Part Two!
