My MacBook Pro's hard disk was whirring away happily, and then started making the dreaded clicks of death. It no longer boots.
Not too much lost, thankfully. A few iTunes songs that I had bought but hadn't loaded onto the iPod, a few touched up photos, (although I still have the originals on the camera), and a picture of

So, the latest Harry Potter book. Almost everyone I know is fanboying over it.
Personally, I think it's awful.
It's a very good window into Rowling's writing process, and can be summed up thusly:

So at the start of the week, in the US, a PS3 with a 60GB hard disk cost $599.
Then Sony announced that they were cutting the price to $499, and introducing a 80GB model for $599. We shall overlook the fact that Sony has the balls to charge $100 for 20GB of hard disk space, when you can buy an entire 80GB hard disk for $20Now, Sony has slipped ( Read more... )
