So, I've spent the last few days working at a homeless shelter. This is a women's only shelter, part of a larger group of shelters organised by redacted. In other words, every woman here has chosen to be away from men for whatever reason. These reasons include experiences with domestic violence and sexual abuse.

I haven't posted in a while, have I? I've been busy with my blog, The Krav Vegan, and advertising it on Twitter.
That person we saw get hit by a car did die, probably on impact. His name was Ash, and he was twenty-two, my age.
David and I broke up a while back. I'm dating Anthony now, who is much nicer. And fitter. It's awesome.^_^ -

I saw someone get hit by a car last night, on Smallbrook Queensway. Anthony tried CPR, I called 999, along with a few other people. There were no visible injuries, just blood pouring out of his mouth. The police were nearby, and they helped until the ambulance arrived. I signed up for the BRMB Walkathon on the 8th May. 26.2 miles around the city, to raise money for the Birmingham Children's hospital.
Anyone know of any good podcasts to listen to while training? They work better than music, for long walks. I've got Freakonomics and some stuff from The Stand atm. Comedy is good, but I'm open to other ideas.

Hi. It's been a busy few months.
This year, it looks like I'll be doing a lot of travelling alone. For that reason and others, I want to be able to defend myself. I want to learn a martial art, but I don't know which kind.

Here's a repost from the no_poo comm. No_poo'ing (and yes, I know it's a silly name) is basically giving up on commercial shampoos. You start by washing your hair with baking soda and vinegar mixes, with the eventual aim of reaching the point where your hair can do without either. Bad new is, I lost my glasses. Good news is, I just found out that I can buy frames cheaper online. I found the exact frames I had before for £30 less. That's not bad.:D
