mac's group has a yearly family retreat. the docs have meetings for at least half the day, and the families can hang out and relax. this year's retreat was at a ranch outside of bend. that was my first trip to central oregon, and the drive was beautiful (a bit long, but i got lots of knitting done)

this has been a most excellent weekend thus far. hot, but excellent. friday morning, i biked the boys down to jamison square to play in the fountain and have a picnic, followed by an ice cream treat at cool moon. both boys took naps that afternoon (as did i), trying to stay cool inside in the dark. friday night, i biked up to acadia, an upscale ( Read more... )

Pictures to follow (hopefully) but we went up to the snow yesterday on Mt. Hood. There was much frolicking in the snow (and rain), a fabulous snowman built, some sledding at the snow park, followed by hot chocolate at beautiful Timberline Lodge. She apparently had her third boy last night, after convincing the on-call OB to let her give it a go (he told her she had 10 hours to get to 10 cm, then it was time for surgery), then declaring "It was too easy."
