We moved on Friday, and we are basically 95% unpacked. Not bad. And even though we have spent months slowly winnowing down our possessions into storage and Goodwill, I still feel we brought too much stuff. New year!
Two weeks is a long time in terms of baby development. In Illinois, Spencer visibly changed. Spencer now loves to rummage in bins of things, and will do so for quite a while, giving me a break. He can now intentionally roll over (and get stuck on his tummy in the middle of the night.)

Daylight Spencer Time
Spencer has always had a pretty strong internal clock, so you can imagine the time change has not gone well with him. I have given up, and now he shall take a 9am nap instead of a 10am one, etc etc. Basically I have to change his schedule instead of making him adjust, because it just ain't happening ( Read more... ) -

One big task list check
The house closed today. I may never need to drive two small children to Sausalito ever again. The estate sale went off without a hitch, although we probably didn't make much given the parking, at least it was all taken care of and I didn't have to pay out money to get it hauled away. Jack tries to figure out the world
There was a mysterious noise in our Mazda ventilation fan. Then the noise went away. Then the smell began. It is a faint smell, only detectable for the first couple of minutes once the car is started, but I'm 99% sure that there is a chopped-up mouse in our fan. Burning both ends
I have taken to making myself a cup of coffee in the late afternoon/early evening. This is the only way I can resist turning into a slug after Spencer's bedtime. Putting Spencer to bed is like taking a big fat sleepy drug. I'm already in bed, half-undressed, warm and cuddly. Why not stay there and read/internet/sleep?
