Phew!
My parents' anniversary party was today. It went really well! I made a zillion cupcakes and some jam tarts and a bunch of finger sandwiches (friends helped make the sandwiches today, which was great). Other people brought green salad and fruit salad. when I couldn't fall asleep last night, I was thinking about party planning, as one does, and was thinking that I should get a big box to transport stuff from my house to the site. Maybe a paper box... or a file box...something with handles. And it came to me! My laundry basket! I bet it's actually big enough to take the serving trays I bought flat ( Read more... ) -

Grateful
In light of last night's post, I was thinking at the end of rehearsal how glad I was to be there, really breaking from the work-related madness I had been feeling. And then at the very end, the choir director said something about really being in the moment and not looking toward the end too much, and it was just so perfect. Party planning
I'm going to throw my parents this anniversary party on their actual anniversary, which is a Sunday, in the afternoon. Talked to our friend who is the president of their co-op apartment building (all filled with family friends as well) said she'll check the date, and be my co-host, so I don't have to pay for the room or anything. Tonight's amusement
Funniest story from Family Dinner, from my grandmother. When she was in junior high, some boy liked her, and kept asking her out. She kept saying no, but her sister insisted that she agree to go to the movies with the boy, and eventually wore her down. So she went to the movies to meet him.... and brought her best friend with her! Hilarious. And ( Read more... ) -
Two things from the weekend(ish)
Friday I took the day off from work, because the Alzheimer's Association was filming my family for an internal video. It was so interesting! There was a woman from the Association and a three-man crew -- director, camera, sound.
