I decided I should throw my parents an anniversary party this year, and asked them about it last night, and they seemed into it, so I'd better really do it! Of course, now it's a little scary. Time capsule
You guys! Over the weekend, my parents were doing some stuff in the attic, and found my treasure box from high school. Such a trip down memory lane! I'm going to inventory the contents here, for posterity? It's all bananas, but pretty much confirms that I am the same person I've been since I was 13.

Technology and change are both scary
I think my ancient iPod nano may be on its last legs -- one of the buttons on the click wheel isn't working today, but I'm not sure if it's permanent. So I'll need a new one of those. Luckily, I don't care about anything fancy or huge storage capacity ( Read more... ) -
Final books of the year!
53. Watchmen, Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. Holy crap. This was the first graphic novel I've ever read, and it was really challenging -- I think it wrecked my sleep, because I had to focus on reading it so much more than my usual pre-bed stuff. The other best/worst thing that happened on Christmas Eve
We get together with the family on Christmas Eve, and then my parents and I head off to church, and the family comes later (after cleaning up! so nice). When we walked out for the service, they weren't there. The prelude started, not there. The worst/best thing that happened over Christmas
When we got home from the Christmas Eve service, my mother looked around and said, "Where's the purple bag? Jesse, did you take it out of the car?" I said no, I had just grabbed my bag, and couldn't remember what had happened to the purple one. Which had my mother's purse inside it. So she sends my father down to look in the trunk.
