It's the 15th day of the school year, and I'm staying home. Self-preservation won out over my guilt at calling in sick, especially after I found myself kneeling over the toilet at 3:00 this morning.

It's hard enough having a lousy day where the kids won't listen and the assistant principal pops in for a surprise visit and a seven year old kid curses at another kid and I totally suck and I am convinced I'm gonna get fired.

So it took me two weeks less than last year to catch something from the kids at school. I have a self-diagnosed throat infection, which is possibly an upper respiratory infection instead/too. I just changed the layout of my LJ, and now when I am looking at my own Recent Entries page, I can't see the userpics unless the post was hidden behind a cut, or unless there were comments left. Does this make sense to anyone? If so, can I fix it?

Today was decidedly better than yesterday, for the majority of the morning. Even got some ego-boosting positive feedback from the principal.

The afternoon, however, had quite a surprise in store for me (not to mention the rest of my class). I've decided to consider it my rite of initiation into the school community.
