I think I'm going to mostly migrate away from LJ. My longer posts already end up on my blog, and I think I'll start using twitter (http://twitter.com/JZig) for pointless daily updates (it's good for that). Valkyria Chronicles just keeps getting better. I'll make a blog post later, but this game is combining fun tactical combat with one of the best-presented stories I've ever seen. Something that happened to one of the characters made me really sad, which doesn't normally happen for me with games...

LJ is on it's way out, according to gawker and various linked LJs. Of course, LJ has been on it's way out for a few years now, so I'm not sure what all has changed. Maybe they'll stop trying so hard to change things and just leave the community alone, while collecting the small recurring income.

In case you weren't aware, everything on Steam is currently on sale (until the 2nd), some things massively so. I am currently buying world of goo for $15.

I'm posting from my new computer. Everything seems to be working perfectly (my only installation mishaps were minor: swapping power and reset buttons, and accidentally pulling off the GPU power connector, leading to a horrible noise that made me very anxious until I figured it out). So, I was playing fallout 3, when the game crashed and I booted to the desktop, but I was in 800x600 and 16 color mode. Uh oh, so I restarted, and it complained that my CHIP fan was dead (I confirmed such), but I booted anyway, which then crashed halfway through boot. Things I'm thankful for: This year is almost over. As far as years of my life go, this is the worst one since sophomore year of college. Compared to where I was a year ago, I have accomplished essentially nothing of note, and several people I care about are worse off. Anyway, this had better be a local minimum and not a trend...
