With the release of WoW:BC

I've found myself playing way more then I should. I suppose this is normal for game such as this.
it's not really interfering with my school work so it's not a bad thing.

Hey, I think you are good at being funny! I know how it is playing WoW. When I played I would re-arrange my priorities. What else would I be doing if I wasn't playing WoW? So, I always made time for that. After I finally quit (one of the hardest things I've done) I went through an empty bored period and then I started living again. Think about how much of your life is spent playing WoW. If you didn't play you would have more motivation to do other things, maybe work out. I am also trying to get in better shape and sometimes it is really hard to find the motivation to work out, so I can just take a walk. Also, with WoW not eating up so much time you will be more likely to go out with friends or go to parks or go bowling or something. You might me someone out there doing all those things and if not at least you will be having fun with friends and doing something besides selling your life to Blizzard. Wow is not somethign you can do for an hour of your time. It needs at least 3-4 hours of play at one time and that is too much ( ... )

Well, from my experience with playing WoW, is that I can simply limit myself, and with the recent release of the burning crusade, raiding doesn't take 6-8 hours anymore, more like, 3-4.. if you're even INTERESTED in it, there are so many options and things to do now, it's not the only alternative. So you can play for an hour and stop, but some people just get too into it. I admit that even I have had the occasional 13-hour game period of just wow and eating and then going to sleep, and i think it's the main reason why im getting to become overweight. However, I think that if I quit, i'd be making a serious mistake, as most of my motivation for drawing and so forth come from the environment. I'm sure I could find another game, but would I be getting the quality from it?

Anyways, what I guess I'm trying to say is, Force yourself into moderation. If you can't do that then you probably do have to quit.

I disagree with the "WoW is not something you can do for an hour of your time" comment. You can do plenty on WoW in just an hour- Get some quests done, PvP, hell, even the new instances are short. Blood Furnace and Ramparts shouldn't take more than about 45 minutes unless your group sucks like a fat kid with a Slurpee.

I also don't think 3-4 hours is "too much". Sure, its a chunk of time, but people sit around and watch TV that long and nobody complains. The way I see it, if you're doing something and having fun, go for it man. Especially in something like WoW, where you're actually thinking and interacting with other people.

I am a complete WoW addict, but I still go hiking, train my dog, spend time with friends, and work a full-time job. You can play WoW and still have a life. :P
