Fun day today. Had to get up early to call the vet for an appointment for Cooper. He started peeing in his crate this week, then also peeing on the carpet in the family room. He only does that when he's got a urinary infection, so, off we went to get meds for that ( Read more... ) -
Yay hockey!
I'm so happy it's back on my tv. I've missed my Sabres, though the Amerks (AHL affiliate of Buffalo) were a nice substitute while they were gone. I did forget how much I hate the NBC announcers. While the MSG guys are definite homers, I do like them much better. And the Sabres won, so that makes me even more happy ( Read more... ) -

Ugh. So sick today. I was going to work from home, but my network decided it didn't want to let me connect. No point in going in, as my computer got hit by a virus yesterday and after 4 hours running virus scans, it ended up getting taken by IT to work on. It's been an eventful day so far. I made brioche french toast, with cinnamon or vanilla maple syrup (so yummy) with apple maple chicken sausage and canadian bacon. Dad loved it all, but he's feeling overall icky today, so mom keeps having to get up to check on him. Then in the middle of opening presents, Cooper found the pill I thought I had ( Read more... ) -
Vacation!
So happy to have some good days off all in a row. I took off Wednesday til Friday, then my company holidays are this Monday and Tuesday, plus next Monday and Tuesday for New Year's. Next week at work (all three days of it!) will be so slow, as it seems like most of the company took those days off. I plan much fic reading ( Read more... ) -
Finally some good news!
Dad had a pulmonologist appointment this week and the doctor is very happy with how he's doing. So much, that he's having the amount of oxygen dad's on reduced. He was on 8 liters (think that's the right terminology) and the doc wants to reduce it to 7 liters, test his oxygen levels for a week, then if it's good, go down to 6 liters. It's been a pretty horrendous week. Sunday night, I got the call that my uncle had had a heart attack and was in surgery. They weren't sure if he would make it. Monday morning I woke up to the news that he made it through surgery, but passed away early Monday morning. The service was today. Dad is now home! It was a pretty big production and I think everyone that had worked with him at the nursing home was there to see him off. One of the respiratory nurses even came in on his day off (with his 6 year old daughter in tow) so he could say goodbye. It was awesome. rollercoaster week
So, it's been a crazy week plus again. Started the new eating plan and it's not too bad. Journaling is definitely hard to keep up with, since I'm on the go so much. I really need to find a website or app I can use to supplement the paper copy I've been using. So far, down 5 pounds, so woo ( Read more... ) -

Having dad home for my birthday Friday was awesome, but very tiring for mom. She's working on convincing the VA that he doesn't need to do two more home visits, as the lack of all of the equipment was a huge hassle and things took way more physical effort to work through.
