I just read a fantastic article about listening parties -- a group of music-obsessed people come together with elaborate mix cds of obscure and random songs and sit for a few hours listening, drinking, smoking and just indulging their audiophilic desires. Friday night went pretty well, though as a perfectionist my mind autofocuses only on the fuckups. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and the repeated comment was that my harmonies with Joanna were fantastic. We covered Manu Chao's "Hey Mr. Bobby," "Real Love" by Mary J.
