It's been a while

I haven't felt motivated to post in ages. Hopefully I haven't completely disappeared from the collective consciousness.

Three of my books now appear on Amazon. I was far more excited about this than cool logic should suggest. The mark-up makes it unlikely that anyone will buy them there. But there's something about having one's work appear in the ( Read more... )

Glad to see you posting again

You really made crabapple jelly????? We had crabapple trees when I was a kid and I adored them.I'd climb up and eat the fruit with my mother warning me that I'd get a stomach ache, lol. My mom made jelly, too. I've not seen a crabapple tree since I was probably 13. They don't grow in this neck of the woods *sigh*.

My computer crashed some months ago and it had parts of one of your books on it. I was looking forward to reading it when things went BOOM! Can you send me the link again? I'm sorry for asking.......

Yes! It's a beautiful tree: gorgeous blossom followed by scarlet fruit that hangs on and on, and makes such delicious jelly. One of our most worthwhile orchard trees, I think. Any fruit we miss, the sheep gobble up off the ground :-)

For a book download, the best way is to click on the Smashwords link above. Or here.

Welcome back!

My neighbor had a crabapple tree when I was growing up. It was in their side yard and always dropped fruit on the walkway going up to the side door of their house so it was kind messy. I don't think it's there anymore. I can imagine it would be nice in an orchard, though.

I just received the latest issue of Consumer Reports the other day, and they had an article on digital cameras. The top three choices for subcompacts (that fit in pocket or purse) and approximate prices in American dollars were:

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 $310
Canon PowerShot SD880 IS Elph $260
Nikon Coolpix S610 $220

There's more a bit more info on them in the article. If you like I can scan the page of the magazine and email it to you.

That's very kind of you, thanks for that. Probably not worth your scanning it, though, as not all the models are available here. We've almost decided on a Canon, similar to but not identical with that one.

Yes, over a path the tree would be a nuisance. In an orchard it's a delight.

Ummmm . . . who are you, again?

If you want to get some of that crabapple jelly off your hands, I have room here . . .

Congrats on getting your work on Amazon!!! Joelle's is up there, too. You guys are big time now!

How kind of you to offer! Postage might be a downside.

Amazon??!! That's Amazing!! Good on you.

I have finally downloaded your first book, but I wanted to experiment with putting it as an e-book on my mp4 player, which has that function. I transferred it, but oddly i can't find it on the player, so I think I'll just print it out and read it the normal way. I must remember to do that - one of those things I always remember when I don't have the USB cable with me.

Not forgotten!

I don't know if you have brand allegiances, but the Canon G10 is a fabulous point and shoot.

Oh, thanks for that. We'd have been happy enough to stay with the same brand as before, but the local stores don't seem to carry the models we want. So we're currently looking at the options in various brands.

Congratulations on getting your books on Amazon-- I would be similarly excited! It's a status thing-- you have your own Amazon page. =)

Crabapple jelly, I've never heard of it but it sounds wonderful! When I spent the first 7 years growing up in Columbus, OH, we had a crabapple tree in our backyard and mom used them to make an Indian pickle which was lovely!

It's got a natural sourness, so I can imagine it making a lovely pickle.
