Reason For Dropping: Too mean, too toppy. I WAS INTIMIDATED BY MY OWN CHARACTER. Bossing people around and beating them into submission if they don't listen is what Anna does, and having to do that made me constantly paranoid about stepping on toes. I just couldn't deal with it for long. Secondly, I didn't have access to a few hundred chapters of her canon and didn't feel comfortable knowing I could contradict something canon in my playing.
Select Option 3? Beating up characters who exist to be abused (see: fiancé, God) was good times, however.

Reason For Dropping: His Dark Materials are my favorite books EVER FOREVER and I feel obligated to do them total justice at all times. So when I felt like I was slipping and needed to review canon, I realized that with classes going I didn't have the time to make the effort. And then I realized, also, that Lyra just needed to go home. She really wanted to and always would. Otherwise she'd become restless and build up emo, and I didn't want to put her through that. So I dropped her.
Select Option 3? Lyra is the character I've had the most regrets about dropping. I have thought of re-apping her from a later point in canon, when she'd be less anxious to go home, but I don't think I really could or will. At least not for a long time.

Reason For Dropping: I love Kazumi so much. ♥ She was my absolute favorite character to play, my primary from as soon as I got her. I knew I would only ever drop her if I dropped the game... and that's what happened. It wasn't her, it was me having issues that were killing my desire to RP at all. After a couple months and other drops, I figured I'd just plain been in the game too long and it was time to move on... Obviously, that last part was only true for a couple months, but! Although I miss Kazumi a lot, I am not re-apping her. She left with her girlfriend and now they're happy back home together, and the next time she travels between worlds it'll be to visit Hugo and Caesar back in theirs.
Select Option 3? The one three-way kiss between Kazumi, Sayo, and Ari happened in the infamous mistletoe post that got campfuckudie temporarily suspended. I CANNOT TELL YOU how sad I am that the post had to be deleted.

I do love the game and character, but there are others I love too much more. So, loss of canon enthusiasm, plus the loss of general RP enthusiasm I talked about in Kazumi's section equals dropped.

Kasumi's one of the characters I have more of a special fondness for than a burning love. To put it short, apped the wrong Suikoden character, got bored, never wanted to play.
Select Option 3? Spying on Luc and Ted with Abel and Lazlo, and Ted finding them and thinking Kasumi and Lazlo were dating... that post saved me from dropping her the first time I'd planned to. She lasted a month longer after that.

Reason For Apping: I read Amatsuki because of Bonten and Ginshu in camp! And I liked Toki from the beginning, but the scene in this icon at the beginning of chapter 5 was the exact point at which I went, "...♥ THIS CHARACTER NEEDS TO BE APPED." T-then as I read more, he turned out to be my type of character in every way and I had to be the one who apped him. But I had no ideas for an app until the last minute, and I also nearly changed my mind and apped Tsuyukusa instead because reviewing the canon made me suddenly love him too. Crying to my future castmates about my dilemma helped me make up my mind, though, and by the time I sent the app in I was sure I'd made the right decision.
Select Option 3? I've barely played Toki at all yet and already I love it. That first ninja comment where the rest of the cast jumped me -- especially the thread with Kuchiha in there... This is going to be way too much fun, omg. I have a retard again!

Character balancing: Uhhh. Kazumi and Senel actually had balance for a month or two! Really! Yeah, I haven't been that great with it before, but I think it'll be okay this time. What surprises me and makes me happy is that I haven't been neglecting Ion for my new character at all despite Toki having a much easier voice for me and seeming like a bigger spamwhore. In fact, it's been the other way around... but I think it's just new-character nerves, and I can see them even-ing out.
Apping/dropping rate: I have three dropped characters for each current. I don't think this is too bad a number, but I know I run into problems as soon as I get a third character. I've never been able to play more than two at once for very long. And there's no way I'm dropping either of my current ones, so I should say I'm never apping again, but I know by now that that'll never be true. As long as I'm really determined enough not to drop anyone, I'll get through having more than two! >:

- I just noticed my app percentages go in a pattern: Two in the 70's, two in the 90's, repeat. (I've never had one in the 80's!) This is a pattern I wouldn't mind breaking next time I app. \o/
- This is the first time I've had a true gender imbalance with my characters. My usual combination was one of each, unless I had just one or a 2:1 ratio. It feels kind of weird not to be playing any girls. Ion does not count, even if he was originally going to be a girl.
