Fall is rolling in at a snail's pace. Days are still hot but we've been able to turn off the air conditioner on some days and get by with opening the windows and running some fans. Sweet potato and pumpkin flavored items are filling stores and hot coffee and tea tastes delicious on a busy morning.

September tested the positivity I was feeling in ( Read more... )

Wow, that sounds horrible (the accident, I mean). I hope Ryu is recovering well.

Otoh, is it any wonder Japan has a birthrate crisis when they make raising children so difficult?

Thank you. He's recovering slowly.

Oh yes, it really is unbelievable. There is a waver to priority for placement, but if I end up getting pregnant, amongst other conditions, within two years, then I lose my spot. Way to promote having children, eh?

Sorry to hear about Ryu's work accident. I hope he is on a steady path to recovery.
Fingers crossed you will find a child care space.

He's doing much better, thank you! They okayed him to change his own bandages but he still has to go in twice a week to check for infection.

Oof, that is... not ideal. I'm sorry for Ryu's accident and I'm sorry for the additional strain it added on you.

That is absolutely wild (but tbh not surprising) about the childcare dilemma. Wishing you luck there, whether you get in close or decide to move.

Childcare is difficult everywhere but for some reason, I expected Japan to have a better system as they want to promote more birth.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Hope all is proceeding well now.

I think I read somewhere (before) that due to the decline in birth rates in Japan, the government is pushing for more child births, I thought there wouldn't be this type of problem with childcare. Seems I'm mistaken on that.

Yes, despite everyone keeps saying "looks doesn't matter" it really does matter. I haven't tried that brand, but hyaluronic acid does make wonders! I really liked the one I tried from The Ordinary, but it's really not available locally so I'm trying other brands that are easier to obtain for me.

All the best!

Thanks -- he's getting better.

They are! And yet the entire system is laughable. They recently improved the paternity leave for fathers so that they can help with the baby, but the way the schedule is set up, it doesn't actually help at all.

I used The Ordinary and yeah, that's why I stopped as well. It was too much of a hassle to get a hold of. I quite like the brand I'm using now. I've used their other lines with positive results. Once I use this one, I'm going to try their all in one.
