So how come the Catholic Church can't get away with the argument that it "does not make policy according to the ebbs and flows of external pressure"? :)

On Saturday there was a chance of rain, so instead of going for my usual run in Central Park I opted to stay in for my work-out. Yesterday I hung out with my good friend from Hopkins, Maura, and we went to see the New York Philharmonic perform their free concert in Central Park. They were supposed to perform last week, as well, but the performance was rained out.
