James was having a lot of trouble sleeping in his crib back in February. Well, problem solved! We first put his mattress on the floor in our room for a while. About 3-4 weeks later, I turned his crib into a toddler bed and slept on the floor in his room for two nights while he adjusted to being back in his room. James' birth story!
Felt achy Thursday evening around 5:30pm ish- legs and lower back just kinda had a dull ache. So I put Hades on the leash and took him for a walk around the high school. Got back from that and sat on the couch, and realized that what I thought might be contractions were happening. I wasn't sure though, so I just monitored them and kept going. ( Read more... ) -

Had a doctor's appointment today and she confirmed via ultrasound that James is, in fact, head down, despite him still being wrapped around my right side. She also checked for effacement/dilation and I'm a little effaced, but no dilation yet. So he's hanging in there. I'm only 38 weeks and 1 day, so there's still plenty of time. Full term today!
Well, as of today, baby is officially full term. 37 weeks. That means that I only have about 21 days left (assuming James decides to come on time, which there is no guarantee of, lol). I can't believe it's so close! I feel ready, yet not. I know everything is about to change, but I don't really fully understand HOW it's all going to change until I ( Read more... ) -

I am a bargain QUEEN.
I just want to say that it is entirely possible to get practically everything you need for a baby for a LOT cheaper than the stores will have you believe. My bargain list....
-Wooden rocking cradle, a bit battered and inn need of a paint job, but structurally sound: FREE. Baby cradles in stores: anywhere from $50-$100+, depending on model.

So apparently I failed my 1 hr glucose test and so have to do the 3hr one on Monday. Blah. But on the bright side, we nearly have all the critical baby furniture/travel items needed. Stroller and carseat are taken care of, and we will be getting a Pack n Play with a bassinet with this paycheck. We already have a rocking wooden cradle that I picked ( Read more... ) -
Exciting news!
I went down to Stork Vision in town today and got the gender determination done. And....
