Yeah, Crash can SUCK IT. I was happy with Philip Seymour Hoffman though...I adore him. But when Crash won Best Picture...I think a part of me died. I was really, really upset.

PSH was great as Capote but I felt like Heath deserved it just a little more. It's not just the Brokeback fangirl talking, pinky swear. I didn't think Jake or Michelle should win. Ugh, Crash. I know the Oscars are utter bullshit and everything but seriously. Why. It's like the Academy pretends to be all gay-friendly but in private, when they're voting, they can just carry out all of the ugly, underlying prejudices. This is hard to forget.

Yeah, I secretly wanted Heath to win...his performance was just so incredible. But Hoffman is one of those actors who is just constantly brilliant. It was a tough draw this year...

Yeah, fuck the Academy. You know they only voted for Crash so they would seem less racist. Pshhh. Honestly, it's like Hollywood stroking its own dick. Ugh.

I loved Michelle's performance, but Amy Adams. She was so amazing.

I know what you mean. Hoffman has been good for years. But I feel like his Capote had just like, an ounce of camp to it. I realize that's how the real guy talked, but I feel like he won because the Academy has this retarded tendency to reward the showier roles. Heath as Ennis was just this like, revelation. He had nothing to base it on, and not many words to help him out. Jake was great too but I feel like he'll get his due later, whereas this might be the role of Heath's career.

Hahadlkjf exactly. And they only voted for Chicago because Miramax has the nicest gift baskets.

eeee....those pictures made the oscar burn that has left me pissed off for DAYS feel a little bit better. and jake should always be slightly tipsy.

and heath totally looks like he's practicing to be the next james bond in that last picture. :)

If they don't care, we shouldn't. Except we do. Those Oscar burns were third degree at LEAST. I'm assuming you're another of those fantastically intelligent people who knows that Brokeback Mountain was fully deserving and Crash is the worst Best Picture in years?

Yeah, a Best Picture should be a film that resonates with you after you leave the theater, not one that makes you think, "Hmmm, Ryan Phillippe should have shot Ludcris in the face instead." Which is what I totally thought, by the way.

At least there are fantastically intelligent people who realize this.
