I got the new migraine prevention medication today, and will be starting it tonight. It's a generic for Topomax, Topiramate 25mg, and the doctor is starting me off low with one pill a night at bedtime for the first week, then two pills a day afterward. The side effects are all similar to the propranolol, so here's hoping that this one might work ( Read more... )

The day after I stop the propranolol preventative that caused me so much issue, of course my brain has to backlash with a migraine that has kicked me on my ass since yesterday afternoon and have had to miss a class for. Well, the doctor's appointment was good. : ) I was told that I should stop the medication immediately because of my side-effects, and I should be feeling back to normal within 12-14 hours. What is complicating the whole business, however, is that I'll be put on a low dose of generic Topomax in the next two to three days after I feel normal again. ( Read more... )

Today I'll be going to the doctor's to get a follow-up appointment about my preventative medication for my migraines. I have been getting a crap-load of side-effects that have affected how well I can work. Thankfully work has been amazingly accommodating, and have been giving me easier jobs, such as being at the cashier and serving food, etc. ( ( Read more... )
