Check up on «know» along with «cognition», «recognize» etc in Greek etymology dictionaries: common so called PIE root sharing later the Greek co-gn-at as in γνώση etc.
Το ρήμα KNOW προέρχεται από το παλίο Αγγλικό ρήμα cnawan (στα παλιά Γερμανικά knoeanan) που προέρχεται από το Λατινικό gnoscere, που και αυτό με τη σειρά του,το οποίο σχετίζεται με τα γιγνώσκειν, γνώση κλ.

You forgot Russian znat, знать=to know, as if homonym to знать=znat=aristocracy/gentry and Greer phonetics, where G in GN sounds like Ukrainian G-Kh :)
