Genre: Romance/Angst

Disclaimer: Yeah...well...I wish I owned them, but I don't.
Summary: The storyline starts from when the original Hey!Say!7 guest-starred on Shounen Club and moves on from there. It’s a Takaki-centric fic that follows him from the previously mentioned point on as he experiences the pros and cons of being one of the oldest members of the then-newly-formed Hey!Say!JUMP and his interactions with his new bandmates, particularly one Yabu Kota.

Not over Yabu, no. That train had long since left the station. After finally convincing Koyama that he was ‘perfectly fine’ (what a lie), Takaki had run back over just in time to get into formation for the Shokura opening.
And everything had gone smoothly. Yabu, Hikaru and Yuto guest-hosted flawlessly. Yabu and Hikaru worked magic with their duet. And Hey!Say!JUMP’s Shounen Club debut got the longest standing ovation Koyama said he had ever seen. Not bad. Not bad at all.
Of course, Hikaru didn’t look at him once, preferring to run off with Inoo and Daiki the second the camera stopped rolling. Hey!Say!7 didn’t say a word, instead running around playing pranks like they always did. Koyama just smiled and patted his shoulder reassuringly before running off to see Kanjani8 practice their new song.
And Yabu…
It wasn’t as though anything changed. Yabu still passed him a juice box at snack time, still gave him some little compliment on his dance steps or encouraged him with his acting. He still joked with him about the hot girl sitting in the corner with her friends. He still smiled that reassuring smile.
And yet it seemed as though everything changed. Yabu’s hand didn’t feel as warm as before, barely brushing his before darting swiftly away. His eyes didn’t seem as open when they met Takaki’s. His smile wasn’t quite as warm, as happy.
He shouldn’t have felt so bad. After all, Takaki Yuya and Yabu Kota had never been close before Hey!Say!JUMP. They had never shared a joke or laughed over coffee. That was left to Ya-ya-yah for Yabu and J.J.Express for Takaki. That was the way it had always worked.
And yet…
Hasshi had never had quite the same laugh, quite the same warmth as Yabu. Kamei had never had the same wicked sense of humor. Daiki wasn’t quite as adorable. Inoo wasn’t the same kind of beautiful.
And despite the absolute horrors of the situation they had been thrown into, Takaki could honestly say that the last few weeks had been the best he had ever known. And all of that, he owed to one boy with an amazing voice and a warm, gentle smile.
God, Yabu, I was such a fool.

But he was freaking out for a different reason this time.
After all, Music Station was a pretty big deal. So Takaki had every right to be nervous as hell.
It didn’t help that nothing was going right. Keito’s white suit was ‘mysteriously’ covered in curry sauce (though no one was surprised when Ryutaro immediately went after the juniors who had tried and failed to hide their snickers behind their hands). Inoo’s microphone wasn’t working. Daiki was cursed to wear a facemask when not performing thanks to a nasty case of pneumonia. Yuto and Yamada were off chatting up a storm with Kamenashi-kun on Inoo’s cell phone, quite content to forget everything about the performance at hand. Hikaru had managed to make not one, but FIVE juniors run off crying, thanks to his horror stories about a certain Sexy Osaka Man (some of which Takaki wasn’t quite sure were far off their mark). And Chinen, little princess Chinen, was nowhere to be found at all.
Once again, it was Super-Yabu to the rescue.
But try as he might, even Yabu couldn’t control everything. He succeeded in finding a replacement suit for Keito only to discover that it, too, had been sabotaged. He managed to get a new microphone for Inoo only to find that suddenly, Hikaru’s earpiece wasn’t working. He wrestled the phone away from Yuto and Yamada, only to see them steal his own cell phone and run away laughing. Try as he might, Chinen was nowhere to be found.
In fact, Hikaru was the only thing Yabu had been able to control.
But maybe, Takaki noted as he reassured junior after junior that no, Nishikido-sempai did NOT know how to breathe fire. It’s only because he can see the tears in Yabu’s eyes.
“Please,” Yabu begged. “Please, everyone, calm down. Dai-chan, here’s some aspirin. Calm down, you’ll be fine, no one will get sick. Yuto, Ryo-chan, please, can you give me back my phone? Hika, can you go talk to Julie-san for me, please? She said she got a hold of a new earpiece for you. Inoo, were you able to get Chii’s mom on the phone? I’m getting worried. Anderson, Ryo-chan does not know how to open the gateway to hell, I promise. Everyone, please, calm down.”
But try as he might, try as they (because Takaki refused to add himself to the myriad of problems, not after the November Shokura fiasco) might, nothing would work.
I have to do something. He stole a quick glance back at Yabu.
I have to do something for you.
“Everyone-”
“Yuuyan!” A blur of hyperactivity tackled him from behind.
“Chinen?” Takaki gasped, pulling the thirteen year old off his back. “Chii, where have you been?”
“On a motorcycle.” Chinen replied as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Takaki ushered the younger boy over to the costume room. “Yabu, Chii’s here, he’s with me. Can someone get me the makeup kit? Geez, where did your costu-Chii, what did you say?”
“Yeah, Akanishi-sempai drove me over here.”
Takaki blinked. “You’re telling me that you’ve been on a-”
Something fell to the floor. He looked back. Yabu had dropped the mike he had been helping Ryutaro with. “Ya-”
“Jin?” Yabu whispered, his eyes looking past Takaki furtively. He looked back.
The KAT-TUN star smirked. “I did promise the kid a motorcycle ride."
AN: YAY, MORE SEMPAIS! WHOOOOO! WHOOOOO!!!
xD, hey kiddos, look who's actually posting regularly again. WHOA SNAPZ, IT'S ME!
So someone asked about getting Ryo back in and I was going to do that but I couldn't seem to make it work. I was going to make the shokura episode a mini-arc with Ryo and Koyama talking to Takaki and Hikaru but it didn't seem to work out. So I did some talking with my musie-muse (HEY, HEY, AI-CHAN!) and decided that I wanted to hop over to bringing Jin in, since that had been something I was looking forward to for FOREVER. But when we looked at continuity, we discovered that the episode debuted way, way earlier than we thought. Which meant that filming for said episode had to have happened around or before the shokura taping. Which meant that I couldn't write up a trip to the Yukan Club set and have not only Jin, but also Yoko and Junno interaction (which believe me, made me sad as hell...do you realize how much fun it would be to write Yoko and Junno? Together? in the same location? Holy crap, that'd be amazing!). But then I got this random idea from the end of Yukan Club Episode 2 which helped me combine my desire to do the Music Station episode AND have Jin in the same place. After all, Jin DID promise Chinen a motorcycle ride, ne?
Anyway, after like a week of writing this on and off, it's finally here. Not as long as I would like and the whole Takaki-Yabu relationship cycle is actually going faster than I expected (I didn't think that I would write something like what happened in the November shokura til around the debut concert or something). But it did and I actually kind of like it. And Hikaru's a WAY major char these days. Which was NEVER in my mind. Neither was writing in Ryo and Koyama's relationship. Though I think that all of that just happened because I'm such a such a fangirl. xDDDD.
Anyway, I hope you guys like it so far. I'll try and update at least once a week. Comments are always appreciated and I love seeing all the new readers pop up. SO SPEAK UP. I LIKE NEW FRIENDS!
Okay, tell me what you think and I'll see you next time!
