I'm all in favour of LJ of trying interesting new things, knowing that 90% of them are not going to be of interest to me, and I don't even object to LJ trying to find more revenue streams, but...

...if I wanted Twitter, I'd use it.

Offering such a low amount of notifications is what stops me from using it.

If I check the option to send notifications to my phone and then I leave the house for the day, I could get like 20 texts during the course of the day when I can't get to a computer to turn off the texts. And then I'd get charged because I only get 10 per month. So I just don't use it at all cause I'm afraid of going over.

I should add, I love being able to make txtlj posts, because I have a texting plan with my phone so it doesn't cost extra. But since LJ charges me for going over 10 notifications per month, I can't use that feature.

If you use it and run out of the free notifications, you have to actually purchase an additional package to get more - so you can't get automatically charged if you go over.

I use it for posting, but for notifications, no. 15 isn't enough, and I'm not going to shell out money for more...

My phone has web and email capabilities, so I don't need to be notified via text.
