This is a really simple, yet very tasty cake or you can make chocolate buns with the mixture instead. (If you do - note these will take less time to cook). You can use rice flour or something other than wheat. You can also add chocolate chips and/or nuts.
Ingredients
200g (7 oz) plain flour
200g (7 oz) caster sugar
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
250ml (8 fl oz) water
Preparation method
1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Lightly grease a 13x23cm loaf tin or a 20cm round cake tin.
2. Sieve together the flour, sugar, cocoa, bicarbonate of soda and salt. Add the oil, vanilla, vinegar and water. Mix together until smooth.
3. Pour into prepared tin and bake at 180 C for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool.

Well, when it comes to estimating the birth date of such an esteemed colleague on the fly, it's easy numbers to get muddled up in the haze of admiration and reverence.
Were you looking for something more savoury, what's better than spinach mousse - or some nice spinach tapa to remind Nick of Spain?
Ingredients for 4 tapas 400g/14oz spinach, destalked 1 onion, finely chopped 2 tomatoes, finely chopped 2 tablespoon olive oil 100g/31/2oz raw prawns Salt and pepper to taste 5ml/4fl oz milk 125ml/4fl oz double cream 4 eggs
Cook damp spinach in a covered pan on medium heat for four minutes. Press cooked leaves between two plates until dry. Sauté onion and tomatoes in olive oil. Turn heat up to evaporate some liquid. Add spinach and peeled prawns, season and stir. Cook on low heat for a few minutes. Cool. Put in a blender. Add milk, cream and eggs. Whirl until creamy. Season. Pour into a lightly oiled loaf tin and bake in a bain-marie at 180C/350F/Gas 4 for 45 minutes

Required items
One rabbit, alive or recently dead One knife with sharp point e.g. craft knife. Kitchen scissors
Instructions (best performed outdoors)
If the rabbit's still alive, kill it.
Remove any urine from the rabbit by squeezing the abdomen.
Make a cut an inch long and a quarter of an inch deep under the ribs on one side and then tear the skin open with your bare hands.
Holding the rabbit by the feet and chest, swing it vigorously to shake the entrails loose.
Cut the entrails out, easing the stomach loose carefully so as not to puncture it.
Puncture the diaphragm at the base of the ribs, and then remove the lungs and heart above it.
The skin can then be pulled away from the body at this point, leaving just the head, legs and tail. These can be cut off with a pair of

250 ml water, preferably filtered

Infuser
Heat the water until approximately 80 degrees C in a non-reactive pot. China or stainless steel are preferable. Do not boil it.
Put the tea leaves into the infuser and thence into the cup, a cylindrical one works best.
Pour the water over the infuser and allow to steep for two to three minutes.
Remove infuser.
Drink.
