Why didn't anyone tell me how useful Google Reader is?

I'm pretty sure if I show up at work on Monday wearing a bicycle helmet and water-wings and hug everyone I see, nobody will be surprised. In fact, it'll confirm what a lot of people seem to suspect.

Let me explain. I may be paranoid. There's a good chance I am. But there's an equally good chance my paranoia is justified.

I've been really off all week.

On a normal work day, I'll get up at 5:30. Gives me more than enough time to shower, dress, eat breakfast, and check all my favorite news sites and web comics. There was a time when I had to turn my phone off to stop the calls. At Wendy's, I practically had to lock myself in the freezer to get some quiet. On the Internet, I'd have two IRC chat rooms open while fumbling with seven or eight AIM, Yahoo, and MSN windows.  I have a notepad I keep next to my mattress. I use it to jot down any thoughts I might have after I go to bed and don't feel like getting up and turning the computer back on.   I'm delirious with - among other things - fever. This is upsetting, less because of the debilitating effects of illness, and more because of its predictability. See, every year since 1998, I've gotten sick within seven days of Fall starting.  Don't worry, folk(s?), I'm not happy about any particular thing. Those smiles weren't for me.

Anyway, today I came to the starting realization that I miss physical contact with other humans.

Crazy, right?

And I don't mean in any sexual way, or anything like that. I just miss being touched.

Don't know what brought that on. Hasn't bothered me
