Last night, I managed to lend credence to one of two popular spousal-abuse myths by walking headfirst into a doorframe.
...ok, so doorFRAME is a bit different from DOOR. But it was still a form of talent that exceeds most logical and sensible paths.

It occurs to me that I don't believe God can save me from my shit. I know that He is omnipotent, and I know that He is loving, and I even believe that He wants me to be better. but in the end, I don't really believe that He could change me. And not believing it, I never give Him the chance anymore.

Nothing like watching a show in the theatre where you performed one of your favorite roles ever, to make you really ache to get back on stage.

Damn my lack of work schedule.

This was a good book. It was something of a fictional event wrapping for a fairly basic set of arguments for the Christian faith, but it was well-written enough that I didn't anticipate some of it until I had already read it. Ya know...if I could change my fundamental view of God's law so that it was entirely for my protection, if I could gain the perspective that the things He bars are prohibited because they harm me...maybe I wouldn't have such an aversion to it. And maybe some sins wouldn't hold so strong a grip on me.

God's presence, and our entry into it, seem the ultimate paradox, and at the same time the ultimate in simplicity, to me (which of course adds weight to the paradox side). On the one hand, His justice dictates that any sin...ANY sin...bars us from approaching Him. And He is unchanging, so His justice is unchanging, so any sin present in us ( Read more... )

So, my D&D itch is in full swing, and I've applied for a handful of games, at least one of which I've already begun, and began a game for which I'm still recruiting.
