Well, finally got out to see Marlay Demesne with an eye towards using it as the location for the wedding reception. While it's nice, I don't think it has any rooms large enough. Still, one down, x number to go. Will let y'all know if we find anything suitable.

I would just like to say that anyone with some free time should try to get to 'The search for the real Jimmy Gorman' by Neil Sharpson, showing until the 18th at teh Trinity Players Theatre, 8pm. Funniest thing I've seen in ages :) Tickets  are €15.

Afterwards went to the Porterhouse for  a MANLY drink. Crankcrankcrank.

So, yes, I'll probably be taking a pay cut. Or going on strike and then taking a pay cut. As it happens, I don't think the cut will hurt me too badly, but I'm in a pretty ok place financially. Not having a family to support leaves me with enough disposable income that I can survive ok. I know quite a few people who aren't quite so lucky...

So, the party was fun. I had a bit too much wine (thankfully, some of it ended up on the table instead of inside me, which I'm sure reduced the inevitable hangover the next day), but don't recall making too much of an ass of myself, so I count it as a win. So, I've been living at the Island for almost a year now. I'll be moving out in a month or two (or three, depending on when we can find a replacement). Its been a great year and I'm definitely going to miss the place, but it's time to move on. Well, had a promotion interview on Thursday. Went about as well as I expected, but I don't think I'll be getting it. I haven't been there long enough (and may not actually be allowed to get it at all, due to certain technicalities), but I think its great practice for next time.
