we took ely to his first swim lesson yesterday. he LOVED LOVED LOVED it. we got him a toddler membership to the Y so we can take him swimming. since i'll have him home on monday's i think that will be a good activity. that and grocery shopping.

Ely is moving A LOT. he's only 6 and a half months old. Jes joked that he won't talk until he's 5 because his motor skills are so great. well then i have fewer years of "why momma?"

Ely has had a rough week and to top it off he is getting his first tooth. i was a mad baby food making machine today. i went to whole foods and got organic sweet potatoes, organic pears and avacados. i boiled the potatoes and pears and made baby food out of all of it. lots of baby food. the sweet potatoes turned the cuisinart orange. and my hands. and left a sticky residue on the pot that was really hard to clean off. i' ( Read more... )

i read today that thanks to a ruling which came down on may 23rd the department of state will now recognize marriage licenses from couples in a same-sex marriage who change their names as valid. yay! i still just spent $50 sending away for certified copies of all my crap and a weeks worth of wicked anxiety worrying about getting my name changed in ( Read more... )

he talked throughout our entire dinner...which was outside. i bought a new grill today and it was actually warm enough to sit outside. although it did get chill toward the end. at the end of dinner he started laughing. way too cute.

so far he's eaten pears, bananas and avacado. he does not like plain oatmeal but then who can blame him.
