Last night in Melbourne, some friends and I saw the man in concert. I have waited over 20 years to hear him sing Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want on stage. It was pretty frickin' cool, I must say. Sure, he's a pompous prick who pretty much despises Americans, but I love him just the same.

Beachy goodness
A week at the beach was just what I needed. Floating aimlessly in the pool, enjoying the spectacular view from my balcony, leaving the door open at night so that the waves lulled me to sleep...it's kind of sad being back.

Yay, condo!
I finally found an oceanfront condo that I'm happy with. It's the right price, it's a family-type place and it has a lovely view. Yay!

Irish Stew
Tomorrow is a colleague's last day at work. As she is moving to Ireland (the lucky bitch), we're doing an Irish theme (natch) for her going away party. I volunteered to make Guinness Beef Stew. Has anyone ever made this? The recipe suggests that I serve it over mashed potatoes, but that seems a bit much as there are already 2 lbs. of potatoes in ( Read more... ) -
Condos and author visits
I had a Daytona Beach condo in mind for my 9-day vacation that's coming up (16 days!) but something was nagging me about it. It didn't feel right. So now I'm going to wait until the last minute to call the other places that looked promising and hopefully get a deal on one that isn't booked.
