I've crossed 2 nagging jobs off my project list and I actually do feel better now.  One is not finished (involves multiple coats of paint) but I can see progress.  Now I can relax.

I have always suffered from phone anxiety (I hate calling people and asking them for things) in particular and general anxiety about asking people for things.  I have made a lot of progress since I was younger.  Now, I can handle making phone calls pretty well if I am doing it for someone else (working or ( Read more... )

Except that I don't have a Phd (I took a break after my MA and never went back, and I didn't leave a tenure-track job.  I did leave a lucrative part-time job that would have most likely led to something else though.  Now I'd probably never be hired as the institution (like many others) is in a hiring freeze.( Read more... )

I have plenty of things to keep myself occupied, so it's not like I'm sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring. BUT,I am able to check my caller ID records online. So I can tell if a prospective employer has called. Depressing.

I've joined an affintiy group at our UU fellowship called "A Complaint-free World".  Several members are already referring to it as the "quit yer bitchin group". I think I like the second title better. ;)

So I'll be practicing gratitude as much as I can.
