"Ritsuka! Hello!" Tsuna had spotted him off by himself and came over to greet him. Sipping some punch he stood next to the smaller boy and grinned. Events like these still made him horribly nervous but over time he'd grown better at enjoying himself. He nudged Ritsuka lightly with his elbow and continued talking. "This island sure likes to go all out for celebrations, eh?"

"It's been pretty good so far." He'd spent the first bit of the ball dancing with Mist, but the two of them were currently taking a break to catch their breath and talk with friends. Tsuna looked around and pointed at a bamboo plant near them with a few tags hanging on it. "Have you thought of any wishes for Tanabata yet?"

A little while before the ball began, Athrun walked out of the stairwell into the first floor hallway. In his hands were a bouquet of white roses and a wrist corsage for his date. After a little bit of walking, he came to room 108. He hid the bouquet behind his back, knocked on the door, then put his other hand behind his back.

Many girls would have taken this opportunity to panic, but Estelle was no stranger to balls, and this was but the latest in a long line of social functions at which her presence had been required. She hadn't remembered attending any with a date, of course, but she saw no reason to start worrying about such things right now. This was going to be fun!

She opened the door and beamed as she saw Athrun, curtseying on instinct. She had chosen a long, frilly white dress for tonight, and had performed all her necessary primping long beforehand. "Hi, Athrun! You look very nice."

Athrun smiled semi-nervously. For someone who couldn't remember anything of his past, he was surprisingly calm, albeit still a little nervous. But hey, that much was normal.

"You do, too," he replied. He then pulled his left hand out from behind his back. "These are for you," he said as he offered Estelle the bouquet.

"Oh, wow! Thank you so much!" Estelle exclaimed with genuine excitement. She'd never had a boy bring flowers before! ...Or so she remembered, at least. "Just let me get a vase for these..."

After the flowers were put away, she stepped out of the room and clasped her hands politely. "Um... I hope you know where we're going. I'm afraid I still don't know my way around very well..."

Mist came in with a new gown, sweeping down modestly to her ankles. Having heard that this celebration would be Tanabata-themed, she had picked a red gown with flowers embroidered in silk. She felt it matched, to some curious extent, the more traditional formalwear she saw beside them. But still, it was a ball, and as a Crimean, she felt it was most proper to go in a gown.

She waited with a glass of ice tea by the food tables, where they had almost always met before each ball. She had briefly considered wearing her old dress for sentimentality's sake, but found that she really had grown taller and that it was unnecessarily tight on her. It was exciting, anyway, to have something new.

Considering he was suppose to be some badass mafia leader, he really should have a knack for picking out clothes that made him look devastatingly handsome. Instead Tsuna had to settle for a white suit that didn't completely make him feel a doofus. Once he entered the park, he took a quick look at the scenery before scanning the room for Mist.

He spotted her fairly quickly and waved before trying to push through the crowd. Moments later he joined her next to the food tables and internally congratulated himself for getting all the way there without having anything spilled on him. Tsuna smiled and took a good look at his date. " Wow. You look really great tonight." He was a little taken aback seeing Mist in the long gown as oppose to the short dress she normally wore. 'Girls can look so different when they get all dressed up.' he thought to himself.

"Thank you!" She set down the iced tea on the nearby table and stepped toward Tsuna, dry grass crunching beneath her feet. The slightly uneven park lawn made her shoes wobble around, and she thanked herself for not coming out in high heels. "And you do, too." White -- like a knight in shining armor, or like white chocolate instead of black. It was elegant somehow. She liked it.

"Thanks." He smiled and took her hand when she moved closer. Partially because Mist looked a little unsteady, but mainly because he just wanted to. He shifted to the side so they could both see where other people were dancing and leaned in so he could be heard over the music. "So, have you thought about what you want for Tanabata?"

Saber never had bad posture, but her head seemed a little higher in the air, perhaps a compensation for the slight awkwardness she felt upon wearing a gown, or perhaps because of the high heel shoes.

The dinner tables looked amazing to her; they genuinely caused her eyes to light up, for she was so pleasantly surprised. She had no idea there would be so much good looking food.

On the advice of the shopkeeper after throwing his support behind Saber's gown, Erk was wearing a white tuxedo next to her. Normally, he would have been surprised that his date had come to his door, but after Agrias, he accepted it as normal.

He still wasn't sure what he was doing. Why on earth did he ask her to the ball? He didn't feel that way towards her, although when she smiled, his heart had a tendency to jump into his throat...

He steeled himself, trying to force such thoughts into the back of his mind. This was a ball. A social function. If nothing else, he was going to attempt to relax. He looked over to Saber... and found his heart jumping into his throat again. Why did she have to torment him so?

Still, he found his voice and asked, "You seem particularly happy." He followed her gaze to the dinner tables and wondered if she saw her favorite dish.

While Saber had incredible intuition in regards to combat, and even a great deal of charisma to influence others, her perception on the nuances of other's feelings was much less sharp, leaving her unaware of Erk's odd circumstances.

So she blathered on about food. "Oh, well, it's not every day you see such a feast. It's largely Asian cuisine as well."

He fidgeted for a moment, not entirely sure what to do in these clothes. The tuxedo was largely foreign to him, and as he saw most others in a yukata, he was beginning to feel more displaced than ever.

"Asian? I confess I don't know much about the food." What he didn't confess was that he barely knew what an Asia was, much less what the cuisine was like.

Subaru was a big kid. This made her far from the most graceful or refined person in the ball, but in an odd way her not a care, blissfully unaware attitude about being out of place was almost charming as she gobbled food in her blue yukata.

... hopefully she'd not get it messy while eating...

Nina stifled a laugh at the display. She hadn't known Subaru for very long, but even then it was clear she wasn't particularly... refined. Oddly enough, to Nina's royal standards, Subaru still passed. She was rather endearing, after all.

She gave Subaru a polite wave and smile as she approached. "So have you found a favorite as of yet?"

She at least had enough refinement to gulp down her food before speaking. After all, Ginga would scold her otherwise.

"Nina! Hiii!"

She laughed a bit. "How can I pick, it's all soooo gooood!"

"Are you sure? Not even a recommendation? I am running into a similar predicament; it all looks so good, I'm not sure where to begin."
