Gaignun had dispensed with his usual suits in favor of what he heard was a more traditional style, wearing a dark blue yukata. At present, he was holding onto a glass of wine, but he didn't seem particularly affected by it.

His eyes passed over Franziska before continuing around and coming back to her. He closed thee difference, but didn't say anything immediately. Once he ascertained where her attention was, he quietly asked, "Something you recognize?"

"I study law, not music." Franziska recognized his voice, so there was no need to look over to him.

"Recognizing wouldn't be an impossibility," he responded, though he acknowledged her claim. For one as focused as Franziska, it wouldn't surprise him if all her knowledge circled around on the legal system in some way.

Later during the evening Subaru was musing aloud as she wrote her wishes onto little slips of paper and tying those slips to bamboo. "... I forget now... do I get to make more than one of these? I think so..."

"I wish Nanoha and Fate get together again already," She wrote as she spoke, then hung the wish, and continued.

"I wish to fall in love again."

"I wish everyone's safe at home."

"I wish for good health."

"I wish the ice cream parlor would redecorate..."

... and so and on and so forth.

Erk had been walking by when someone asked whether or not he'd made a wish. He went over, saw Subaru writing and talking to herself, and left her be for the moment. He thought the whole exercise was foolish...

...then he heard her say, "I wish to fall in love again," and he froze in his tracks. Was that why he still couldn't get over Agrias? Was that why he asked Saber? He stood there, thinking quietly, looking at the floor.

"And I wish..." Subaru looked up in thought and scratched her chin with the top of her pen--Or so she was before she noticed Erk. "Oh, hey Erk~ Are you gonna make a wish too?"

Hearing his name snapped him out of his reverie. He looked slightly dazed for a moment as he came back to his senses. When he finally understood the question, he responded with a simple "No."

There was no way he would escape Fay's keen eye though, and he was easily spotted within due time. He did not attempt to draw any attention to Kyouya, instead circling around discreetly and coming up beside him.

"My, that outfit really suits you," he said with a grin. "I wonder if I myself do not look a little out of place."

(( OOC: Fay's yukata. They can be girly together! XD ))

"Ahaha, I am glad to hear it then!" said Fay, pushing back his sleeves a little so he could cross his arms. "Judging by the clothes I arrived in, I do not believe this is the sort of attire I am accustomed to. I enjoyed wearing it at the hot spring though."

"So, are you waiting for someone?" He quirked an eyebrow knowingly.

"Here we are..." Ginko said with a gentlemanly smile as he set Tanyuu's drink on the table near her.

Ginko, being the constant and steady type, was wearing the same dark-green men's yukata he'd worn to last year's Tanabata. It was different, though, wearing such a thing beside a dance floor instead of in the midst of a crowded, buzzing festival. Is this the feeling of...wearing a costume? he thought bemusedly to himself, and looked over at Tanyuu, in her own woman's yukata, and decided that it wasn't so bad.

It wasn't so bad, feeling this kind of familiarity with your date. More than just the clothes...

"I think it suits you," Ginko commented as he finally turned his gaze away from her, taking a sip of sake.

It's nice to feel this kind of harmony with someone...

"Thank you," Ginko replied in turn.

His mind wandered.

"...I remember last year, we celebrated Tanabata with a market-style festival. It really is strange to think that it's been a whole 12 moons since then," he mused, watching people converse around the dinner tables and take to the dance floor. "This event not only makes me think of Tanabata, but the ball we had not long before then. I wore a tux to that. I'm glad I didn't have to this time."

He ended with a smirk, folding his arms comfortably inside his yukata sleeves.

Kurogane couldn't believe he had to come to another one of these things as he looked up at the paper lanterns hung about the park. But as long as they kept bribing the residents with something he actually wanted he sure as hell wasn't going to let the opportunity slip him by. No matter how ridiculous it was.

At least it was for Tanabata, he mused. Something familiar, something he didn't mind so much.

He wondered if there was going to be alcohol here, gaze drifting toward where the food was being kept. And when that idiot was going to show up. He scoffed lightly to himself, pulled his arms out of his new yukata's sleeves and headed toward the food. While he waited, he was going to ascertain if there was going to be drinks at least.

(( OOC: I could not for the life of me find any good men's yukata for pictures, so just imagine Kurogane's new one is black with silver and blue dragons at the base and some blue and silver accents on each side of the chest area. Otherwise, it's just black and simple besides the ornate dragon designs ( ... )

And from somewhere out of the dark, a hand attempted to surprise Kuro by brushing the back of his neck.

Perhaps it was because, unknowingly, Kurogane had been made Fay's "prey" so to speak, but Fay was harder to sense than one would think. Maybe being a vampire helped as well. And if Kurogane had been any less trained throughout his life (and hadn't already been expecting something like this), Fay may have succeeded in surprising the man. As it was, Kurogane didn't so much as flinch as cool fingers brushed the back of his bare neck.

Instead he just turned his head slightly to glance back. "What took you so long?"

"Aww, Kuro-pin's no fun," said Fay, trying to pout but unable to keep the smile off his face. "I'll have you know I was making my rounds and greeting everyone. Because, unlike Kuro-chan here, I am not so adorably shy."
