1560's Italian dye saga
Well, I screwed up my courage and went to Dharma Trading for dye and instructions. I ended up with the Acid dye for silks in burnt orange and emerald green. Because my fabric wasn't white to start with it was a bit tricky choosing the color to overdye. Unfortunately I didn't find the perfect fabric in LA's fashion district so I have to do something from stash. Sacramento Gold Rush Days
Hi all!
My latest frenzy was getting ready for Sacramento Gold Rush Days, which has been held every Labor Day weekend since I don't know when, but I've been wanting to go for a couple of years. 18th Century Pocket
Well, I made a foray into embroidery for an 18th Century pocket. After going to Williamsburg and seeing all the beautiful embroidery work done on pockets and aprons I figured I should give it try. Costume College
Costume College was last weekend and I must say it was Fabulous! I had a great time hanging out with my friends and just being Mia instead of wife/mom. Yay!
My friend Amy and I went to the Gala and I have to say we looked great! See pictures attached. Like an idiot I forgot my camera, so I have to hunt and gather pictures from everyone else...

Costume Con
I've been sewing like crazy trying to get ready for Costume Con coming to San Jose this month. The problem is I've never been to one before so I don't know what to expect, what I should wear or bring. Can anyone tell me how many outfits I should bring and what it's really about?
