Chapter 4

After that rainy day, Youngwoon stopped chasing Jungsu in the school. Instead, he started visiting the stack room in the library building everyday after school before he went to the club activity. They had small chat about school or themselves, or Youngwoon sometimes worked on the assignments there, of course Jungsu never gave unfair favors. And whatever they did, they ended up kissing at the end every time.

Youngwoon got to show the hesitation less and less as they repeated the kisses. Jungsu knew he should not let this happen, he knew it was wrong. However, once those eyes caught him, or those hands touched him with passion, his brain refused to think properly and the only thing he could do was to close his eyes and let the boy get what he wanted. He felt himself like an indecent shameless teacher who allured an innocent boy into corruption.

Also now at the stack room, Jungsu couldn’t really concentrate on the book in his hand. He’d been throwing a nervous look at the door time and time again, wondering if Youngwoon would come here today. He himself was not sure if he wanted it or not. He was telling himself to brush off Youngwoon today for sure when the door was finally opened and the young man at issue walked into the room as it was already a justifiable custom for him. Jungsu closed the book in his hand roughly with determination.

“You really shouldn’t come here any more.”

“The door was not locked”, Youngwoon instantly replied with mischievous twinkle in his eyes.

Jungsu was taken aback and silenced. What the younger man dais was right. He could lock the door if he really wanted to keep the boy out, but he didn’t. He felt his determination was already weakening inside of him as watching Youngwoon walking up to him with those crescent eyes he was so absorbed.

“What were you reading?”, Youngwoon asked, pointing at the book in Jungsu’s hand.

“This? Um, this is a story of a man who is betrayed by his wife and best friend, and pursues them to destroy their lives in return and get a revenge on them. About the karma and the struggle of human beings. Kind of a mixture of suspense and philosophy, I’d say.”

Jungsu explained fluently, making the younger surprised a little. Youngwoon didn’t expect to hear a dangerous word like ‘revenge’ from a gentle person like Jungsu.

“Oh, really, um. So you always read that kind of books?”

“Yeah, I like this kind of human dramas, but I ready any genres, anything but love stories, actually.”

Jungsu replied casually, and Youngwoon was now more curious in the answer.

“Why not love stories? It’s not like I myself read those stuffs, but I thought you’re kind of a person who likes that sort of, uh, sweet stories?”, Youngwoon asked half-laughing, but he soon retrieved the smile getting the quick reply.

“I don’t believe in love.”

Jungsu spat shortly and looked aside. Realizing his own reaction, he soon looked back at the younger and smiled forcedly.

“Most of them end up in a cheep ending, and, hey, I’m not a romanticist unlike you think!”

Youngwoon detected the hint of pain in the voice, and he wished if he could know the reason. The man in front of him had the past and history Youngwoon didn’t know. Those might be long and complicated compared to his own seventeen years of simple and short history, but he wanted to know them. He wanted to understand Park Jungsu more.

Youngwoon reached his hand and caught the elder by his arms, knowing that he wouldn’t refuse. Jungsu flinched a little, but he put the book down on the desk and let himself pulled into the younger’s arms. He never met his eyes with Youngwoon’s, but it didn’t make the younger hesitate.

Youngwoon caught the other one’s lips by his and sighed contentedly into the hot mouth. He grabbed the elder’s small head to change the angle and deepened the kiss. Through the half-lidded eyes, he could see Jungsu’s eyelashes trembling by the interaction between them, and it made him excited more. Youngwoon tugged on the elder’s collar and pulled him closer, exposing the pale skin under the striped shirt a little. Youngwoon’s lips followed down from the elder’s chin to the exposed neck and collarbone, sucking here and there.

Because he was so absorbed into the elder’s skin on his tongue, Youngwoon didn’t notice he was pushing Jungsu’s body against the bookshelf with his massive body until the elder patted his torso some times lightly. Youngwoon raised his face and stepped back, already missing the heat generated between their bodies a moment ago. They had shared a lot of kisses, but they had never gone more than that for now. Youngwoon’s young body was practically crying for more, but everytime the passion between them rose up for more, Jungsu hinted him to stop, and Youngwoon had no other choice but to just follow it.

Youngwoon coughed and neatened Jungsu’s shirt he had rumpled during the kiss.

“You don’t wear the white shirt since the day we met first, do you?”

“You said I looked like a student in that shirt”, Jungsu answered with his eyes half-closed, ad if he was in a dream.

“That was a compliment.”

Youngwoon chuckled, and it brought a small smile on the elder’s lips, too. Youngwoon felt his heart warmed by seeing that.

Youngwoon was aware that Jungsu always kept his eyes tightly shut during the kisses, but he didn’t mention it because he knew the reason. He could see the piece of guilt and regret on the elder’s face everytime they kissed, and that was why he always put lame jokes during or after kisses, hoping even if only slightly it worked to lessen the pain in the elder’s heart.

“You really have to go now, okay?”

Jungsu smiled weakly and touched the younger’s hand caressing his neck line longingly.

“…Okay, I’m going now, the club activity is about to start anyway.”

Youngwoon smiled back at the elder and walked toward the door, then he stopped abruptly, tapping his forehead.

“Oh, how did I forget this? I came here for this in the first place… look, there’s a High-school Judo Tournament at our gymnasium on this Sunday, and I want you to come”, Youngwoon looked back at the elder and smiled.

“Tournament? Well, uh…”

Jungsu of course knew about the tournament and how hard Youngwoon had been working on for it for this past several weeks. But he was not sure if it was the right thing to go there for him, especially when he knew he should stop this relationship with this young man.

“Um, I don’t know if I ca-“

“If you didn’t come, I’ll go to your apartment and call your name aloud enough to awake the neighbors till you show up. You must come, okay?”

Youngwoon grinned getting a nod from the elder and dashed out to the gymnasium, humming happily.

As watching the younger’s back leaving, Jungsu sighed and closed the door silently. He knew he was an idiot.

…to be continued.
