The story about Keoshi is so sad...the third photograph just breaks my heart.  I hope he gets well.

Have any of you ever tried sprouting your own wheat grass?  Ed would like to grow some for decorative purposes for his new office.  I've called around to a few places in town, and am having trouble finding the seeds.  Can anyone recommend a place to buy the seeds online?  I've searched, but keep coming up with entire wheatgrass kits.  I just want ( Read more... )

I just made the best scrambled eggs!  I found the recipe/method in The Joy of Cooking.  You melt some butter in a double boiler (or in my case, a metal mixing bowl sitting over a pan of simmering water) and then add a mixture of eggs, cream, salt, and paprika.  Then you just stir with a wooden spoon until they're done.  So simple, but so yummy.  I' ( Read more... )

Ed and I were talking about nativity scenes a few weeks ago.  I fondly recalled carefully setting everything up, and then mentioned something about not putting the baby Jesus out until late Christmas Eve or Christmas morning.  He had no idea what i was talking about.  His family would set their scene up complete with baby Jesus and just leave it ( Read more... )
